Abstract

An accelerator pedal device, wherein a pedal arm (50) is supported by a pedal shaft (40) so as to be swung from a rest position to the maximum depression position by a depressing force transmitted from an accelerator pedal (60), a return spring (torsion spring)(70) energizing the pedal arm (50) to the rest position is disposed around the pedal shaft (40), a frictional force generating mechanism (80) variably generating a frictional force according to the movement of the pedal arm (50) is disposed around the pedal shaft (40), and a non-contact position sensor (90) detecting the rotating angle of the pedal arm (50) is disposed on the inside of the return spring (70), whereby a depressing force hysteresis providing an excellent operating feeling can be obtained while reducing the size of the accelerator pedal device.
