Mugwort

Mugwort has a bad reputation. People have taught that the pollen of mugwort causes allergy. According to Åhlberg (2020a, 102), the latest research has shown that the bacteria on mugwort pollen’s surface cause allergy. Boiling in water kills bacteria.  Mugwort leaves have  55 health-promoting compounds, according to Åhlberg (2020a, 103 – 110). Åhlberg (2020a) names these compounds and tells biochemicals mechanisms of how they promote health. Like salvia mugwort contains thujones. Both alpha-thujone and beta-thujone have health-promoting properties in small portions. Salvia is an excellent comparison to mugwort. Foragers use both plants in small doses to give flavor and nutrients to dishes.
