Lamborghini Hurácan Performante

Finding the right location for my next shoot was crucial. Locations can help set the mood as well as give the project extra texture and dimension, which I knew I wanted with this special shoot. Why was it so special to me? Well, this shoot’s subject was none other than my current favorite super sports car, the Lamborghini Hurácan Performante.

So what location did we finally use for this project? We ended up finding this amazing location which was the perfect setting for the Hurácan Performante. IT was an old test center facility for fighter jets, equipped with functional doors. Being able to use the doors during this shoot was quite an enjoyable experience after we had a blast playing with them that is.

The test center facility was the perfect playground for this shoot, allowing plenty of room to move around with lighting gear while complementing the Hurácan Performante with an interesting background. I found that the rough setting helped the vehicle’s beauty stand out even more.

The lighting was just as important as the location and subject, so I knew I had to go with my usual set up of the broncolor Siros 800 L in conjunction with the P45 reflector and the 30 x 120 cm softbox. I did decide to deviate from this set up a bit, for the first time I used the larger 180 x 120 cm softbox to help create a super smooth light coming down from above. In order to make that happen, I had to use a huge light stand and set the strobe as high as possible. At the end of the day, I think it worked splendidly for this shoot and my vision.

For the majority of the shoot, I focused on capturing the Hurácan Performante stationary. With the amazing background and being able to control the doors, I just had to capture a few action shots of the Lamborghini fleeing the scene as the doors where closing. We had such a marvelous time during this shoot, we hope you enjoyed viewing this set!
