Binghamton men's tennis opens its six-event fall season this weekend with the NateRentals Binghamton Championships, presented by Big Zues BBQ and Levene Gouldin & Thompson, LLP. Men's tennis completes unbeaten weekend with 4-1 win

Bearcats topple Army at Lane-Starke Tennis Center, have won four of last six matches

Box Score BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Binghamton men's tennis (7-6) captured the doubles point and three of the first four completed singles matches to defeat visiting Army West Point (5-8) 4-1 Sunday night at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center. The Bearcats have now won four of their last six matches.

Binghamton won at Nos. 2-4 singles to put the match away. Sophomore No. 2 Ronin Lotlikar made quick work of his opponent, winning his team-leading 19th match of the season. Junior Kyle Weekes made it 3-1 with his straight-set win at No. 3 and freshman Filipe Costa, the reigning NEC Rookie of the Month, closed it out with a three-set triumph at No. 3. Costa shook off a 6-0 second set and prevailed 7-5 to notch his 16th singles win.  

Binghamton next heads to Western New York for matches at St. Bonaventure (Thursday) and Niagara (Sunday).
