yeah the NeGcon "Nejicon" from the Japanese word for twist or screw. came out with the original Ridge Racer release on PlayStation (which to be fair was also the release for the console), it was the first PS controller with analog turning, braking and acceleration. (if you look closely, the brake and acceleration buttons are in a well that lets them get pressed deeper)

though actually I guess to be period accurate, maybe the Jogcon is more appropriate? that was a pack-in with R4's special edition in Japan. Ridiculous looking thing haha, and I really kinda can't imagine it ergonomically...but it was the first force feedback racing controller for the PS1, so yet another groundbreaking controller. Namco was firing on all cylinders in those days tbh
