Biennial – Two Season Plant          Height: 3 to 5 feet

Tall, easy to grow plants with beautiful flower spikes. Ideal for shady spots, it is also an excellent backdrop in the landscape for shorter flowers. Plants are native to northwestern europe. A great cut flower.

Availability: 91 in stock

SOWING: Plants may bloom the first year if started in early spring. Sow seeds in mid to late summer for blooms the following year. Cover seed with 1/16 inch fine soil.

THINNING AND TRANSPLANTING: Carefully thin or transplant seedlings when about 2 inches high to 12 to 18 inches apart.

GERMINATION: One to two weeks at room temperature. Keep soil moderately moist during germination.

Ed’s Special Advice: Can be planted in a mostly sunny spot in cooler climates and shadier areas where hot. Plants thrive in moist, well drained acidic soil. Ideal in natural settings. Cut spikes back after flowering for possible later blooms.
