BA hosts 9th annual Ruts N Guts cycling race event

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. (KTUL) — Broken Arrow is hosting its 9th annual Ruts N’ Guts off road Cyclocross race this weekend.

On Dec. 8 and 9 at Chisholm Trail Park, located at 4000 East New Orleans Street, pro-cyclists from around the country are competing in our back yard.

The women pro-race begins at 2:15 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, while and the men’s race starts at 3:45 p.m. on both days.

Organizers say visitors are encouraged and welcomed to cheer on the athletes as the race will include barriers, stairs, sand, hills, and flyover style ramps.

Ruts N' Guts is a sanctioned UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) and ProCX event promoting the Midwest Region of the United States. UCI designation allows Ruts N Guts to support cyclists from all over the world in competition for UCI points, a ranking system used for positioning and qualifications for the USA Cyclocross Nationals.

Ruts N Guts was founded in Broken Arrow by Team Air Assurance/AVB Bank, a local cycling group, in 2010
