GERMAN CONTA & BOEHME ATTRIBUTED PORCELAIN FIGURAL HUMIDORS, LOT OF THREE, each having bright polychrome hand-painted decorations, comprising one example depicting a jester blowing a horn, sitting on a drum with a cat, one example featuring a sitting gentleman in robe, sleeping cap, and smoking a pipe, and one example depicting a standing bald gentleman with rosy jowls reading the "TIMES" newspaper. Marks include various hand-brushed and incised numerals. Conta and Boehme, Poessneck, Germany. Second half 19th century. 9 1/2" HOA.

Condition

Jester having some minute flakes to top back corner, professional restoration to one top corner of barrel base; newspaper reader having restoration to one spectacle, area of yellowing restoration to top underside edge/interior flange; pipe smoker having a hairline to back of base at rim, a minute flake to end of pipe stem, and some scattered glaze flakes.
