This restaurant is a savior when you are left struggling to wait in long lines for a restaurant in Koreatown on a Sunday evening! We ended up going here after our first choice left us waiting for 30 minutes and still being only 13th in line. Being incredibly hungry, sad and tired, we were on the way back home when we saw this restaurant we were both familiar with.
1) It's superb enough to be able to park inside a lot for free around Koreatown.
2) We saw vacant tables and lots of servers ready to serve us!
We were able to sit down, order food, and eat within 10 minutes. Unfortunately, they told us that they were out of the BBQ chicken and the BBQ spare ribs. However, the other food items we ordered tasted delicious! Combination seafood soup, pork pad see-ew, pork with broccoli, teriyaki salmon with shrimp fried rice, and sate dinner were what we ordered! My favorite out of the dishes was the pad see-ew! The noodles were soft, chewy, and delicious with the meat. The salmon plate was not my cup of tea. I wished it was more moist and had more flavoring in the meat. The sauce ontop of it was good but once you take a larger cut of it more, it tasted bland.
Other than that, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! I enjoyed that other workers (not just our main server) came up to us and asked us for anything several times. We had a 5/5 star experience and the dinner definitely helped save the day!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 9, 2024
Been meaning to try for a while since it's very close to my place. Visited on a Tuesday night with my partner. The restaurant is quite big with lots of seating. There was no wait - busy but not full.
We ordered Pad See Ew and Thai BBQ Chicken. The food came out VERY quickly!! Food was good but didn't amaze us. But, the convenience of the location helps so may come back again if craving quick option for Thai.
The service was incredible. They were very attentive and made sure everything was good. When we asked for to-go boxes for our leftovers, the waiter even offered to give us some sauce to-go which was really unexpected!
Parking: Free small parking! Was not full at the timeHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jan 17, 2024
I've always enjoyed coming to this location and location on sunset. They do always have friendly staff and fast service. We came by on Monday food was still as good and good for my soul.
We ordered 7sea soup, chowmein, and bbq chicken. Enough food for 3 of us.
Definitely stop by or order to go.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nov 22, 2023
This used to be a go to spot back in the day.
However, on a recent visit it appears maintenance has been neglected. The establishment hasn't aged well. The fixtures, dishes, and utensils seem quite worn.
When I went at 8pm they ran out of BBQ chicken which was disappointing.
Tom Yum soup, chicken curry, and BBQ rib were all ok.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Pedro Q.Jefferson Park, Los Angeles, CA1920Apr 13, 2024
Thai BBQ is my go to post workout location. The chicken and ribs are always made delicious and the service is quick. The inside can use an upgrade but the food is always great. I had the chicken with rice combo and added on a half order of ribs. The sauce is always on the side so you can choose how sweet you want it. Great place to eat and get stuffed.

I've been coming here for years since the 90s to be exact. The delicious food and services is always consistent.
S1 barbecue chicken and rice, so yummy I do at times asked for my chicken to be well done so that the skin is charred and crispy the way I like it but even if it isn't charred, it's still delicious.
I usually get a salad omg they have the BEST salad dressing not pictured here this time.
Chai tea, ribs, soups are equally delish ... must try's!!
Enjoy!Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 1Nov 10, 2021Previous reviewThai bbq grilled chicken at this location is always Delicious and consistent. Fresh perfectly charred bbq chicken and fluffy shrimp fried rice with extra shrimp. The Thai sauce is sooo good over rice and chicken. Enjoy!

We order from here regularly and the S-1 dinner is really enough to share. We also like to get the garlic short ribs that are nicely garlicky, hot and a bit fatty. Delicious.
Sometimes I get the duck or a soup. Good value for the money and we will order take away again and again. ThanksHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ajig A.Los Angeles, CA713614May 3, 2024Updated review3 check-ins
good food, good service, good price, the only complain I have is they add the gratuity upfront and when you pay, there is an option again for tip. Everyone look at your receipt before adding tip.

I've been enjoying food from here since I was a kid. Now days, I honestly just order it for delivery via grub hub because I don't like dealing with traffic or finding parking. Therefore, this review is based on my recent delivery experiences, FYI!
Food always arrives promptly (they work quick!) and is delicious. I tend to order the same thing every time. The BBQ beef rib dinner, the grilled BBQ chicken dinner, and pad thai. My bf and I share this between us and have leftovers for later. If I'm feeling fancy, I'll also throw in a thai tea. The dinners come with shrimp fried rice and their sweet/sour dipping sauce.
Minus 1 star because the pad thai I had a couple days ago had pork that didn't taste the freshest and they are giving a much smaller cup of their dipping sauce. Also noticed that the price recently got pretty expensive. I will, however, continue to order from them because they're OG lol.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 23, 2023
My daughter graduated today Cal State La Golden Eagles! She wanted Thai food from the Original Thai BBQ on 3rd street.
When I worked at St Vincent Hospital on 3rd we would always order from here. Man o man.
We ordered a spread to share across the table.
Spring rolls.
Pad Thai.
Shrimp fried rice.
BBQ chicken
BBQ spare ribs
Garlic beef
Need broccoli
Panang curry
Wowzers!!! Die we forget something.
Well food was great. Almost all of it.
A listers: spring rolls, bbq chicken, bbq spare ribs, and pad Thai.
Not so great. Beef broccoli, garlic beef (eh), fried rice (was same fried rice that came with chicken and ribs, except had a handful of shrimp in top and that was supposed to make it "shrimp fried rice" (Eh). The panang curry had good flavor, but the chicken had the bone in. Minus two stars for that. Would have been much better if it was served boneless and more potatoes, there was like 1 potato in each dish. C'mon.
Service was as quick and friendly. We got in before the lunch rush. It was packed by the time we left. Pretty crowded. 4 starts. Recommended. Just have the bbq chicken and bbq spare ribs. Also a must have are the Angel stuffed chicken wings.
Mmm mmmm mmmmm. I need a nap now.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
