The Dachstein is the second highest mounain in the Northern Limestone Alps in Austria. The summit near the center of the image is the highest point with an elevation of 2995 m (9826 ft). Here, the Dachstein massif is seen from the south in the late evening. The valley is the Untertal near Schladming-Rohrmoos in Styria. The image is a combination of several exposures (HDR tonal mapping). It has been edited with the help of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
