Kellan Lutz’s ‘Hercules: The Legend Begins’ Moves Up Release Date

Kellan Lutz gets to play the strongest man on earth a month earlier than planned.

Summit Entertainment announced Friday it was bumping up “Hercules: The Legend Begins” from its original Feb. 7, 2014 release date to Jan. 10. The move comes just three days after the studio announced that it had acquired the Kellan Lutz feature from Millennium Films and planned a wide 3D domestic release.

The Jan. 10 date gives “Hercules” a bit of breathing room; the film is the only wide release set for that date so far.

The film had previously been set to do battle on Feb. 7 against wide releases including Warner Bros.’ “LEGO” movie and George Clooney’s passion project “The Monuments Men.”
