Named after Italian cycling legends Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali, the UCI 2.1 stage race is five days of racing in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy.

Coppi and Bartali are just as famous for their rivalry, which embodied the division between northern and southern Italy, as they are for their long list of wins. Between the two of them, they won four Tours de France, eight Giro d’Italia and eight Milan-San Remos.

Damiano Cunego won the 2009 edition over Cadel Evans by 24 seconds.
