Wiggle-High5’s Jolien D’Hoore sprinted to victory Sunday in the Madrid Challenge by La Vuelta, the final event on the 2016 Women’s WorldTour calendar.

The 87-kilometer ride through the Spanish capital came down to a bunch sprint after late escapees Claudia Lichtenberg (Lotto – Soudal) and Simona Frapporti (Hitec Products) were caught in the final few kilometers. The Wiggle – High5 duo of D’Hoore and Chloe Hosking took over in the closing meters of the finishing straight, with D’Hoore crossing the line first to nab her first Women’s WorldTour win, and her Australian teammate sealing runner-up honors. Marta Bastianelli (Alé Cipollini) took third.

Though her position was already well-sealed as of several weeks ago, Megan Guarnier (Boels – Dolmans) officially wrapped up the inaugural Women’s WorldTour overall ranking crown as the calendar’s final race came to a conclusion. The American finished 36th in Madrid after an escape attempt was reeled in around 30km from the line.
