Coryn Rivera took overall victory in the Ovo Energy Women’s Tour, a  5-stage race in Britain.

Lotta Lepistö (Cervelo-Bigla) won the final stage, while Riveria finished in 8th position on the same time, which allowed her to retain her overall lead of 11-seconds over Marianne Vos (WaowDeals Pro Cycling).

Lepistö, who previously won the race’s final stage in 2016, outsprinted Giorgia Bronzini (Cylance Pro Cycling), overall runner-up Marianne Vos (WaowDeals Pro Cycling) and Marta Bastianelli (Alé Cipollini) on the Welsh seaside town’s Promenade.

Despite crashing heavily during Saturday’s fourth stage, Vos’ team-mate Dani Rowe finished the 122-kilometer stage in the front group to maintain her third place on GC. She trailed Rivera by 25 seconds, while Vos ended up being just a few seconds shy of the overall victory.

The foundation for Rivera’s win was built when she won a thrilling stage 2 with a photo-finish bike throw over Vos. Despite not racing, Anna van der Breggen (Boels Dolmans) continues to hold the lead in the UCI Women’s WorldTour overall standings.
