Our riders were competing in the Antwerp Port Epic this Sunday. 184 kilometers through numerous cobbled and gravel sectors. For the duration of the race. At the arrival, Baptiste Planckaert finished in a good third place after a lot of work by the whole team.

Throughout the race, the Bingoal WB were very offensive at the front of the race. The race was very nervous and there was one of our riders in almost every breakaway that formed. Just over 20 kilometers from the finish, Baptiste Planckaert took off with 2 other riders (Stan Dewulf and Gianni Vermeersch) and the gap with the peloton only grew. The leading trio therefore battled for victory in the sprint and it was Gianni Vermeersch who won.

Baptiste Planckaert, the winner of the Bingoal Cycling Cup 2019, recounts his day: “I felt very good from the start but after about 60 kilometers, my rear wheel punctured. Luckily it was a small puncture so I was able to continue my race. If I stopped to change wheels, I would probably never have returned to the peloton because it was going very fast. In the final, there were three of us and my rear tire was quite deflated due to my puncture. I think I cross the line with only 2 bar. I don't know if without that I'll win the sprint but in any case it didn't help me”.

It should also be noted that the whole team worked well throughout the day and that Ludovic Robeet et Sean deBie finished fifteenth and sixteenth respectively. Lionel Taminiaux was forced to retire after a mechanical problem.
