These Larkspurs, as you will have gathered, are totally different from the usual types: most attractive bushy plants bearing masses of violet-blue flowers, in much the same way as a Gypsophila – clouds rather than spikes or clusters. They are splendid for cutting for use fresh in bouquets or dried in arrangements. 2½ft (75cm)

(Yes, we know we are being inconsistent here! – under the Chiltern (house) rules of nomenclature (that would make professional taxonomists squirm but are intended to produce the name, all things considered, of most use to our customers, not them) this should be listed under Delphinium. However, as this is, horticulturally, so very, very different, we, like our supplier, feel justified in listing it completely separately.)

    Fabulous for bouquets

This is such a pretty flower and it will weave its way through other flowers in the garden as well as being fabulous in a bouquet if you let the small flowers bob around a little above the bouquet. Stunning colour too.

    Germination Instructions

Seedlings do not transplant well, best sown directly outside into prepared soil. The fine seeds should germinate on the surface of soil. 14-21 days for germination. You may plant in a greenhouse, late summer/autumn for the following year. If germination does not occur try cold stratification for 2 weeks. Move to -4-+4°C for 2-4 weeks then return to warmth. Heat not required for germination, high temperatures can cause dormancy.

    Growing Instructions

    Easy to grow wildflower.

    Cultivation Instructions

    Deadhead regularly.
