The Vuelta al Táchira by Bicycle and the Tour Colombia will open the cycling calendar in America next year. First, the traditional Venezuelan test will be held, which will be in its 59th year and will begin on January 14 and end on January 21, 2024.
Already in February the Colombian round will reappear with dates from February 6 to 11, and a route that will soon be defined and that will have the best of the international peloton due to the cancellation of the Vuelta a San Juan.
The ‘Grande de América’, belonging to the UCI America calendar, will have a route of 1,071.8 kilometers divided into eight stages and will be category 2.2. The Venezuelan round will cover a large part of the geography of the state of Táchira, with a quick passage through Colombia.
Venezuelan Roniel Campos won the 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions, while his compatriot José Alarcón was crowned champion for the first time in 2023, where Colombian Juan Diego Alba finished in third place.
Meanwhile, the prestigious Tour Colombia 2.1 returns after three years of absence. The Colombian race has three editions that were won by Egan Bernal in 2018, Miguel Ángel López in 2019 and Sergio Higuita in 2020.
