Kay Lynn Lilie, 85 of rural Huntington passed away at her residence on Friday, February 2, 2024. Kay had worked for over 30 years at Magnavox in Fort Wayne, retiring as Department Manager on October 30, 1992. She was a 1956 graduate of Andrews High School. Kay was a Huntington County Master Gardener, a member of the Sorosis Club, Delta Theta Tau Sorority and the First Presbyterian Church of Huntington. She was also a member of several Bridge clubs and Square Dance clubs. Kay had volunteered for many years at the Interpretive Gardens at the Salamonie Interpretive Center. She loved her flowers, gardening, traveling and camping. Kay wintered in Texas and loved the company of her dog Jasmine.
Kay was born on February 11, 1938, in Andrews, IN, a daughter of the late Fred and Lila (Bradford) Beghtel.
She was united in marriage to Carl W. Lilie on April 5, 1977 in French Lick, IN. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2004.
Survivors include a son: Brad (Maureen Tighe) Welty of Huntington; two daughters: Kelly (Michael) Ferneau of Benton Harbor, MI and Nanette (Bob) Isenbarger of New Haven; a son-in-law: Byron Gallmeyer of Hoagland; four sisters: Jean Ann Collins of Leo, Patsy Mahle of Plano, TX, Andris Ross of Roanoke and Barbara Fusselman of Huntington; and a brother: Jim Beghtel of Muncie; Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Susan Gallmeyer and a sister: Linda Baker.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will also be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Indiana.
Interment will take place at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Huntington at a later date.
