ALPINE ASTER (Aster Alpinus)
Aster (Aster Alpinus Mix) - Grow some Aster seeds and attract both bees and butterflies to your garden with Aster Alpinus. This mix of pale lavender, blue, pink, and white shades with a distinct crested center will look perfect in your rock garden. Aster plants can be planted in any place there is well-drained, rich soil in a sunny location. Mulch with grass clippings or peat moss around root systems in mid June to protect tender root systems from extreme heat. Keep well watered in dry periods and remove faded blooms regularly to prevent disease and promote continue blooming.

Sow Aster flower seed indoors in early spring using starter mix. Press flower seed into soil and barely cover. Transplant into the garden 12 inches (25cm) apart.
