Dorin Habert went down before the final shooting stage in Pokljuka, Slovenia, and despite only losing seven seconds on her rival, Dahlmeier was able to turn the screw after both had gone clear in their shooting.
The German finished the race 18 seconds ahead in 30:08.9 minutes, surging clear of overall World Cup leader Dorin Habert who lost precious speed and energy in her crash.
Finland’s Kaisa Makarainen was third 55.2 seconds off the pace, while Gabriela Soukalova of the Czech Republic kept up her chase of Dorin Habert at the top of overall World Cup standings, finishing fourth.
