France’s Guilbaut Colas romped to dual moguls victory at the freestyle skiing World Cup in Myrkdalen-Voss, Norway to wrap up the overall title in fine style.
The 27-year-old, who collected World Championships gold earlier this year in Deer Valley, completed a superb double, to move into first place overall in the final round of the season.
Colas took victory in Norway to take his overall points tally to 841 points for the moguls World Cup season – ensuring Canada’s Alexandre Bilodeau, third on Sunday, finished in second place.
And that performance was good enough to give Colas the overall freestyle title, edging out Austria’s ski cross champion Andreas Matt in the process.
Colas finished the campaign with 76.45 points while Matt ended up with 74.91 while there was more consolation for Bilodeau, who became Canada’s first ever home Olympic gold medallist last year, who finished in third spot.
In the women's final, Kearney beat Canada's Jennifer Heil to stretch her winning margin in the moguls standings. Justine Dufour-Lapointe took the consolation round to finish third. Kearney claimed the overall title in Are, Sweden, last weekend.
