The You're Beautiful singer has lived on the Balearic island for over a decade and a half

James Blunt has been a household name to many ever since his debut smash You're Beautiful set the charts alight in 2004.

The 49-year-old has released six albums since and has another in the pipeline.

As such, Blunt is back performing on-stage and is billed to perform at the festival Radio 2 In The Park later this month.

While the gig offers an opportunity for Blunt to return to the stage in front of crowds, it also provides him the chance to work back in the UK.

Back in 2006, Blunt began splitting his time between the UK and Ibiza after he purchased a £1.7million home there.

And it's a decision Blunt appears to have zero regrets about as when asked by Radio Times if his "life is beautiful" in a play on words about his famous hit, Blunt was rather honest.

"Sorry to be smug about it, but it’s really great," he told the publication.

Blunt explained further: "I drift nomadically between Ibiza, the UK and Switzerland. I’m very lucky.

"And I’ve got a new record deal, so the world is in danger of hearing more music by me for a while yet."

When asked how much time he spends in the UK, Blunt admitted he does travel back but predominantly only for work purposes.

"I come here to do the graft," he said. "I commute to work here for about three months over the winter as the studios, the writers, producers, and my band are generally here.

"I’ve also got the pub [The Fox and Pheasant in Chelsea] – I’ll be in there at least three times a week when I’m in town.

"I head back to Ibiza to see my family at weekends," he added.

"That’s not a bad way of life really, is it?" Blunt remarked.

However, his time in Ibiza was marred back in early-2021 when thieves ransacked his family's home.

It's believed all his shirts and t-shirts were taken as well as a pocket watch which once belonged to his grandfather.

Also, a bayonet, which is a memento from Blunt's time serving in the British Army in Kosovo in 1999, was stolen.

The police managed to retrieve the majority of the haul taken and none of Blunt or his family were at the house when the incident took place.
