Shiatsu

Shiatsu jap. 指圧, en. „Fingerpressure“ is a form of Japanese bodywork based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine.

Using rhythmical movements, the meridians are worked upon with soft or deep pressure. The client receives a special Shiatsu outfit and lays on a futon for the massage. The therapist performs the treatment using her body weight to work on the meridians using the thumbs, fingers, fists, elbows or knees. Many of our health problems originate in the abdominals. This sensitive area has to be treated with much care. To get a holistic approach of the physical and psychological wellbeing of the client it is necessary to observe, touch and talk. In Switzerland Shiatsu belongs to the complementary therapies and is recognized and partially covered by certain complementary insurances. Please contact your insurance company to get more information.
