Great win for Matej Mohoric at stage 3 at Tour of Germany

Another victory in the career of young Slovenian Matej Mohoric who took the stage in a tremendous sprint today

Matej stood on the podium 4 times today - for stage win, for GC leader and red jersey with 6 sec. advantage, for white jersey, as the best young rider, and green jersey for the best sprinter in the Tour of Germany - one stage before the big finish of the race.

After the win, Matej told us: "Today the plan was to try to attack and win the stage and maybe the jersey. I was more patient today than yesterday. In the first couple of climbs team-mates covered the attacks for me and I went only for the last climb. Heino brought me in a perfect position for the last climb. Unfortunately, due to the head wind I didn't manage to make a difference. I decided to wait and focus on final sprint. I managed to get a good position before the sprint and, at the end, it all went perfect and I managed to win a stage which is great."

"Tomorrow is a very long and hard stage. We will have to fight to keep the red jersey to defend the leading GC. I think we have a strong team, as we showed today. We helped Quick-Step Floors to control the race, so I was even more motivated for my team Bahrain Merida to get them the stage team and, possibly, also the leading GC. Maybe we can also win this race."
