Marguerite is our native European perennial. Its white flowers along with purple pink catchflies and violet bellflowers create that typical romantic atmosphere of Czech meadows where young girls counted their petals as in he loves me, he loves me not.
Maikönigin (The Queen of May) is a popular ox-eye daisy with numerous white flowers with pure white ray florets and yellow discs. They are borne atop slightly shorter stems (60-70 cm) already from May until midsummer. Mid green leaves are narrowly oblong to lance-shaped. They look their best in mass plantings or at the back of a perennial border.
Ox-eye daisy is widely soil adaptable provided the soil is evenly moist but well-drained. For best results we recommend growing it in humus-rich soil where the number of flowers and overall plant appearance will be better. It is commonly pest and disease resistant. Fully hardy to about -42°C (USDA zone 2).
