  2. This is a lizard in the family Teiidae, possibly Kentropyx sp. I'll try to narrow it down. Posted 3 years ago
    1. OK, I looked through the candidate species in Colombia, and my best guess is Ameiva ameiva. They often have green on the backs and hind legs. I'm not as confident about green on the tail, but I couldn't find any other candidates easily. This one does look quite similar to the photo of this species on Tropical Herping ( https://www.tropicalherping.com/science/books/reptiles/teiidae.html ). Kentropyx pelviceps also often has a lot of green on the back, but in that species the green starts from the head and eventually fades out towards the tail, the opposite of this pattern.
