Appearance
It is 15-30 cm tall, hispid. Stem angular, erect, simple or divaricately branched. Leaves sessile, entire or nearly so; lower leaves oblong, upper leaves oblonglanceolate.Flowers in shortly pedunculate dichasia. Calyx strigose, appendiculate; appendages obtuse; lobes ovate-lanceolate, abruptly ending in a subulate, 2-4 mm awn-like tip. Corolla light violet, 20-30 mm, campanulate, glabrous, 2-2'/2 times as long as calyx. Capsule nodding, concealed by the accrescent calyx. Flowers March-May.
