My Competition Journey... Me 'n Bert did a thinggggg at the weekend and took another step forward in our Competitive Obedience Journey...winning our first Test B. We were 3.5 marks clear of the rest of the field.. I'm beyond proud of this young boy. Judges Report: 1st Angela Watson with Hanans Golden Liberty@ Wygulmut (Berty). Golden Retriever. HW 4 ¼, Sendaway ½, Retrieve ½, Scent C, Total 5 ¼. "Beautiful Berty displayed breathtaking heelwork, no mean feat for mum Angela to achieve as he is such a crazy kid at still only 3 years old. He then had us holding our breath when it came to scent, since the last time we judged this team they led throughout the day only for Bouncing Berty to play the fool in the cloth department. This was the first B win for team A/B - there is no doubt that before the year is over they will be A/B in C. Fantastic job and so pleased for you!" The journey so far... 2020 Berty was born 2022 Started competing in April. Won 2 x Novice and 1 x Test A 2023 Won 3 x Test A and qualified for BCOS Grand Prix Final. Did Obedience Display at Crufts 2023. 2024 Won x 1 Test B... Next steps of the journey... 1 more B win 1 x 1st, 1 x 2nd, 1 x 3rd in Test C This will put us in the top Championship C class where we can then compete for a place at Crufts. As a famous African proverb goes 'If you want to run fast go alone, but if you want to run far bring a friend. Indeed, TIE and CLS ran as ONE team today for poly50. A total of 50 laps, est. 42km, ran in relay style by 12 runners. We came in first, clocked timing of 2h 37mins for staff category. It is my second championship for consecutive years with the team. A few reflections: 1. A team effort can achieve far more than you think. The potential of completing the race with a good timing relies on entire team. 2. Our team includes Station IC. They are our eyes and ears to look out for next runners and ensuring our runners are safe, monitoring our remaining laps. 3. We have a good team manager who encouraged us and asked us to speed up at appropriate laps to increase the lead. 4. We have a team of supporters, including Cynthia Sim , who cheered for us when we are out of gas. 5. I get a chance to run with my buddy, Joe ong in the midst of busy schedule. Treasure your team and you can achieve far more than you think you can do. For now, I have to tend to my tight muscles to ensure they doesn't cramped at night. ZZZ..
