The word “Baddha” means “Bound” in Sanskrit and the meaning of Kona is “angle” or “split”, Asana means “pose”, “posture” or “seat”. This Asana is also known as cobower laying. This pose is easy to make and suitable for all. Baddha Konasana stretches the groin and inner thighs. It is often an Asana really useful for the flexibility of the knees, ankles, feet and hips. It opens and will increase circulation on the belt area. From there, these are often truly sensitive prenatal exercises and can relieve menstrual problems. Moving the body from one side to the other can massage your hips. The slow movement of your knees up and down is called butterfly laying; And Baddha Konasana is the best variation of pose of butterflies.

Supta Baddha Koṇāsana while lying down. Meaning of Supta is “Reculant” or “Depined”.

Avoid this Asana if you have wounds and injury in the hips, groin or knee. You will use the wall to support the back if you suffer from back problems.
