Capt. Anderson’s Restaurant celebrated 50 years of serving Bay County Monday.
Over 200 guests gathered to support the milestone achievement.
They marked half a century of serving seafood with a Greek-style flare.
The master behind the apron? Executive Chef Alonzo Keys.
He’s been there from the beginning.
“That’s what makes me so happy. I was part of this,” Keys said.
The restaurant grew from seating 95 people to over 750.
“We used to run a restaurant but we’re not running a restaurant any more. We’re running a food factory,” Keys joked.
Brothers Jimmy and Johnny Patronis helped found the restaurant 50 years ago.
They came to experience the celebration and even share some memories.
Capt. Anderson’s has earned several awards, including number one seafood restaurant by Southern Living magazine for ten years.
The State of Florida’s Chief Financial Officer and co-owner of the restaurant, Jimmy Patronis, says the success is due to the whole family of employees.
“We’re a generational restaurant. Lots of our employees have been with us two and three generations,” Jimmy Patronis said.
“Thank you again so much. I love y’all,” Keys said.
Jimmy Patronis said he hopes the family business can continue to stay in the family, and continue serving the people of Bay County for many years to come.
