HMD has unveiled its new device, the Nokia X6. The X6 is positioned between the Nokia 6.1 and the Nokia 7 Plus in the company's lineup of devices and comes with a brilliant design, powerful processor, and capable cameras.

After weeks of teasers and hype, HMD has finally unveiled its new mid-ranger, the Nokia X6, at an event in Beijing. The X6 will be the company's fifth device for the year, and will offer a unique package for those looking to cash in on the brand's fine hardware without shelling out the US$400 needed for the Nokia 7 Plus.

The X6 is the first device to deviate from HMD's naming scheme for the Nokia brand. As said previously, it's positioned between the Nokia 6 (2018) and the Nokia 7 Plus. It features a 5.8-inch FHD+ display, with a notch proudly displayed at the top. This makes it the first device by the company to follow that trend.

The X6 is powered by the Snapdragon 636, the same SoC seen on devices like the Meizu E3 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Snapdragon 636 is slightly weaker than the Snapdragon 660 on the Nokia 7 Plus but the difference—under 20%—is slim enough that you'd be hard-pressed to notice a difference in performance.

It sports dual rear cameras (16 MP RGB + 5 MP monochrome, f/2.0) and a 16 MP selfie shooter also with f/2.0 aperture. There are multiple memory configurations available with the X6, ranging from 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage to 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

The X6 gets its running juice from a 3060 mAh battery, chargeable via a Type-C port with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, and is available in Silver, Black, and Dark Blue.

The variant with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage comes with a US$195 price tag, the 4/64 GB one costs US$240, and the 6/64 GB model will set you back US$270. Of course, the device is currently available only in China. It will likely be unveiled for the global market later in the year as an Android One offering.
