These “King Size” China Asters have taken the Dutch flower trade by storm.

Flowers shade from deeper blue frilly edges to paler blue hearts.
While “King Size” really does describe the whopping size of the flowers.

‘King Size Mid Blue’ performs brilliantly in the garden, as well as a fully commercial cut flower. Because it has been specially bred for hardiness, disease resistance, and profuse commercial flowering.

Callistephus chinensis ‘King Size Mid Blue’ is very easy and quickly grown from seed to flower.
So you can have it in flower in just 90 days from sowing the seed.

Plant it in Sun to Part Shade.
Where it is a very hardy, easy and quick growing annual.

Approx. 75cm High of gorgeous flowers x 25cm Wide, strong and upright growing plant.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY

Suitable for beginners & gardening with kids

Sow any time indoors in punnets / or scatter directly in garden in winter-early spring.
Callistephus chinensis (China Asters) germinate easily both in the garden and indoors.

Sow indoors for quick plants & early flowers: First sow on the surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Now barely cover the seeds with mix / vermiculate / fine grit to a maximum of their own diameter. Because these seeds need light to germinate.

Then continue to keep moist, in a warm, well-lit position (but not in direct sunlight).

Temperatures of 18-21C approx. are best for rapid and optimum germination.

So seedlings normally emerge in approx. 7-14 days.
