Sonia Strukul is an award-winning artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in France, Croatia, and Romania. Her distinctive landscapes, figurative works, as well as animal and plant imagery are almost always set amidst black backgrounds. In Strukul's compositions, images emerge from darkness towards the light. She believes that
the universe is black but not sterile, as it "contains everything".
