Gossip Girl may have ended its coverage of the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite back in 2012, but the exploits of Serena (Blake Lively), Nate (Chace Crawford), Blair (Leighton Meester), and the rest of the Upper East Siders are never far from our hearts thanks to Netflix, where we can catch Gossip Girl in all its soapy, snarky glory whenever we feel like it.

For Chace Crawford, who played Nate Archibald, the wealthy heartthrob with a heart of gold, the show has been a bit hard for him to move on from as an actor. He attributes part of that to its popularity on Netflix.

“Funny enough, it is [difficult to break out of]... Netflix really kept us alive,” he told Us Weekly in an interview. “I still get that all the time, which is totally fine, I love it. It’s found a new audience, the same kind of age demographic of kids. Girls are still watching it and discovering it. So yeah, it’s interesting!” Gossip Girl’s uptick in popularity did spark rumors of a possible reboot earlier this year, but it seems those rumors have quieted.

Despite the fact that the cast has all moved on, Chace says he’s still close with some of them. He was snapped hanging out with Michelle Trachtenberg, AKA Georgina Sparks, at a party, and told Us Weekly that he attended Penn Badgley’s wedding. “It’s like college. It’s a special thing.”

Could the cast’s friendship mean this isn’t the end of the story? Maybe. Chace told Page Six that should the opportunity arise, he’d be open to a Gossip Girl reunion special. “It’d be tough to get the whole band back together. I mean, we’re in our thirties now,” he said. “It might be a little more like ‘Friends,’ but I’d be open to looking at something!”

For now, though, Chace is working on his new Amazon series, The Boys, so don’t get your hopes up for a Gossip Girl reunion right this second. Of course, if it does happen, I'll be first in line to see just what the beloved Nate, Serena, Blair, Chuck, Dan, Georgina, Jenny, and the rest are up to.
