Giro d'Italia Stage 8 key numbers: Ewan strikes in Pesaro

After previously having finished fourth, third and second in this year’s Giro d’Italia, Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal) took his revenge on stage 8 as he powered to victory on the longest stage of the race. Elia Viviani (Deceuninck - Quick-Step) finished second with Pascal Ackermann (BORA-hansgrohe) in third place.

After the morning breakaway got caught, a few riders tried their luck in the undulating terrain on the final part of the stage. For a moment, it looked like the teams of the sprinters may have lost control but ultimately, it all came back to end in the expected bunch sprint.

Below, you’ll find the VelonLive infographics from Stage 8.
