The invention relates to a method for producing a cartridge for receiving and metering a flowable dental material with a reservoir for receiving the dental material, wherein the reservoir is connected to a cannula section for dispensing the dental material from the reservoir, and having a function element separate functional element, which is connected to the cannula portion. Furthermore, the invention relates to a cartridge, in particular produced by the method according to the invention, for receiving and metering a flowable dental material with a reservoir for receiving the dental material, wherein the reservoir is connected to a cannula portion for dispensing the dental material from the reservoir, and with a functionally separate functional element associated with the cannula section.

It is therefore the object underlying the invention, a method and a cartridge of the type mentioned, to further develop such that the manufacturing process and the cartridge are less expensive to implement. Another object of the invention is to allow a possible air-free filling of the cartridge and / or to prevent re-closing of the cartridge after a first-time opening as possible. Finally, it is also an object of the invention to improve the dispensing, application and / or massaging of the dental material.
The object underlying the invention is achieved by a method of the type mentioned, in which the cartridge is produced together with the functional element in a multi-component injection molding process. Furthermore, the cartridge mentioned above for achieving the object is characterized in that the cartridge is formed together with the functional element as a multi-component injection molded part, in particular a 2-component injection molded part.
It is advantageous that the functional element is produced together with the cartridge in a, in particular automated, manufacturing process. Thus, the cartridge and the functional element are manufactured as a common multi-component injection molded part. In particular, the cartridge is produced together with the functional element, wherein the functional element and the cartridge are already positioned relative to each other during manufacture such that the functional element is at least partially mounted in the cannula portion and / or at the cannula portion. This eliminates the need for the production of the functional element and the cartridge subsequent assembly of the functional element on and / or in the cartridge. This dispenses with a costly additional production step. A separate production of the cartridge and the functional element and a, in particular manual, assembly is eliminated. Instead, the cartridge already includes the functional element during production by means of the multi-component injection molding process. Thus, the cartridge is formed with the functional element as a multi-component injection molded part. As a result, a cost-effective production process or a more cost-effective cartridge can be realized.
In the context of the present invention, a separate functional element is to be understood as a functional element which has a further function in relation to the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing. In particular, the separate functional element is used for releasably closing the cannula portion and / or for applying, distributing, introducing and / or massaging the dental material. In the context of the present application, a separate functional element is preferably to be understood as meaning either a closure element detachably connected to the cartridge or an application element firmly connected to the cartridge. In particular, a functional element permanently connected to the cartridge is permanently connected to the cartridge and / or can not be detached from the cartridge in a non-destructive manner. Preferably, a separate functional element is to be understood as meaning a functional element which consists of a material deviating from the other constituents of the cartridge. In particular, the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing consists of a first material. The functional element preferably consists of a further, in particular second, material deviating from the first material.
In particular, due to the multi-component injection molding process or the multi-component injection molded part, a complicated, in particular manual, closure of the cannula opening or the cannula channel of the cannula section can be avoided during the production of the cartridge, in particular if the functional element is designed as a closure element. Preferably, the shrinkage of the materials of the cartridge housing and of the functional element, in particular during manufacture by means of the multi-component injection molding process, is matched to one another such that the functional element can be detached from the cannula portion of the cartridge. Alternatively, the functional element is fixed, in particular insoluble, connected to the cartridge.
In the context of the present invention, a flowable and / or viscous dental material is preferably a dental material. In particular, a cartridge according to the invention is used in the dental field, wherein such a cartridge is also referred to as Kompule. Preferably, the cartridge and / or the reservoir for receiving a dental material in an amount in the range of 0.1 g to 0.5 g, in particular 0.25 g, is formed. The ingestible volume of the dental material in the cartridge and / or the reservoir may be at least 100 mm 3 or 200 mm 3 . As an alternative to receiving and metering a flowable dental material, the cartridge may be used for receiving and metering any viscous material, particularly a viscous medical substance.
According to a development of the method according to the invention, the multi-component injection molding process is designed as a two-component injection molding process. In the case of the two-component injection molding process, in a first step, first the functional element can be produced from one, in particular first, plastic material. In a subsequent second step, the cartridge and / or a cartridge housing from a, in particular deviating from the first plastic material second, plastic material can be produced. In particular, in the second step, a cartridge and / or a cartridge housing is produced, which has a reservoir for receiving the dental material, a cannula portion and / or a cartridge base. In the second step of the two-component injection molding process, the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing can be produced and / or sprayed at least partially around the functional element. Furthermore, the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing can be molded onto the functional element in the second step. In particular, the functional element produced in the first step serves at least partially as a core part, around which in the second step the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing is made or completed.
Alternatively, in the case of the 2-component injection molding process, firstly the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing can be produced in a first step and in a subsequent second step the functional element. Preferably, the functional element consists of a thermoplastic elastomer, thermoplastic silicone, thermoplastic polyurethane, liquid silicone or polyolefin. The cartridge and / or the cartridge housing may be made of polyester, in particular of polybutylene terephthalate or polyethylene terephthalate, polyolefin, in particular polypropylene, polyoxymethylene, polyamide, cyclo-olefin copolymers, cyclo- Olefin copolymer blends, polycarbonate, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene or styrene polymer exist.
In particular, the functional element and the cartridge, preferably for avoiding a cohesive connection, are formed of different materials. In particular, the shrinkage of the material of the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing is less than the shrinkage of the material of the functional element in order to avoid a shrink fit of the functional element in the cannula portion and / or the cannula channel.
According to a further embodiment, a cannula channel of the cannula portion is at least partially filled with the functional element. In particular, the cannula channel is completely filled by means of the functional element. As a result, the risk is avoided that when filling the cartridge with the dental material air is trapped in the cannula channel. Instead, only the reservoir itself serves to receive the dental material. As a result, an at least largely air-free filling of the cartridge is favored. In a largely or completely filling the cannula channel functional element, a contact surface between the functional element and the inner surface of the cannula channel is provided, which is sufficiently large for holding the functional element in the cannula channel. Preferably, the functional element is releasably, positively and / or non-positively, in particular by friction, connected to the cannula portion. In particular, the functional element is arranged releasably, positively and / or non-positively, preferably by friction, in the cannula channel and / or held. Although the functional element is manufactured as a component of the cartridge as a multi-component injection-molded part, the functional element is preferably not formed integrally with the cartridge. Rather, the functional element can be designed as a detachable from the cartridge component.
After a conceivable independent and independent of the present invention conceivable development of the method, the functional element is formed as a releasable closure element which has a plug part for closing the cannula portion and the plug part a cannula channel of the cannula portion at least partially, in particular completely, is filled.
The cannula channel may have an inner diameter in the range of 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm, in particular an inner diameter of 0.5 mm, 1.4 mm or 2.2 mm. The cannula portion and / or the cannula channel may have a length in the range of 2 mm to 20 mm, in particular of at least 5 mm. The longitudinal axis of the cannula portion and / or the cannula channel is inclined to the longitudinal axis of the cartridge and / or the reservoir at an angle in the range of 40 ° to 60 °. Preferably, the plug part is cylindrical. In particular, the outer diameter of the plug part corresponds to the inner diameter of the cannula channel. Preferably, the functional element is detachably connected to the cartridge or the cannula channel exclusively by means of the stuffing part arranged inside the cannula channel. Thus, further connection surfaces, in particular the cannula channel and / or the cannula portion encompassing surfaces of the functional element, can be avoided.
Preferably, the closure element has a handle part connected to the plug part, in particular designed as an information carrier, outside the cannula section and / or the cannula channel. By means of the grip part, the functional element or the plug part can be released in a simple manner from the cartridge. Here, the handle part may have any shape, as long as it can be grasped by a person with one hand and / or at least between the thumb and the index finger of a hand. Due to the design of the handle part, in particular with regard to the shape and / or color, the handle part can also serve as an information carrier for the dental material contained in the cartridge and / or the intended use. Alternatively or additionally, the grip part may be printed with a logo, a QR code and / or a lot number or batch number.
After a development of the method that is also conceivable independently and independently of the present invention, the functional element is designed as an application element for dispensing and / or applying the dental material. Thus, the application element of the cartridge serves for dispensing, applying, introducing and / or massaging the dental material during a treatment of a patient. Preferably, the application element is fixed, in particular insoluble, connected to the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing. For example, the application element may be welded to the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing. Preferably, the connection of the application element with the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing is formed positively and / or non-positively. The compound can be realized by adhesion due to a suitable material combination. In particular, the application element is at least partially shrunk onto the cartridge, the cartridge housing and / or the cannula section. Preferably, the application element is not non-destructively detachable from the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing.
According to a further embodiment, the application element is made of a resilient plastic material. Due to a soft and / or elastic plastic material for the application element, applying and / or massaging the dental material on the one hand is easier for the person performing the treatment and on the other hand more pleasant and / or gentle for the patient. In particular, the elastic plastic material of the application element has a hardness in the range of Shore A or Shore D, particularly preferably in the range from 30 Shore A to 90 Shore A. Preferably, the material of the application element is different from the material of the other constituents of the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing. In particular, the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing consists of a first material and the application element of a deviating from the first material second material.
Preferably, an outlet of the application element is closed with a separate and / or detachable closure element. In particular, the separate closure element is produced independently of the cartridge with the functional element in an independent manufacturing process. Vorzgusweise the closure element is designed as a closure cap, which is at least partially slipped over the application element for closing the outlet. Thus, for cartridges in the dental field usual caps for closing the cartridge can be used.
According to a further development, after the cartridge has been produced, the functional element filled with the functional element which preferably closes the cannula section, in particular filling the cannula canal, is filled with the dental material through an opening in the reservoir facing away from the cannula section, in particular automatically. Preferably, after the reservoir has been filled, a piston is introduced into the opening for closing the reservoir, in particular automatically. Thus, the production of the cartridge with the, in particular for closing the cannula channel mounted, functional element, the filling of the cartridge and the insertion of a piston for closing the cartridge can be done completely automated. Thus, an intermediate step of, in particular manual, assembly of the functional element on the cartridge can be avoided and it is a total cost-effective production of the cartridge feasible.
According to a development of the cartridge according to the invention, the wall thickness of the cartridge is reinforced in an end region of the reservoir facing the cannula section. In particular, the cartridge, preferably in the front area, designed for a pressure load of at least 2 bar. The forehead area is exposed to high forces when expressing the dental material from the cartridge. Due to a reinforced end region with a greater wall thickness with respect to other regions of the cartridge, the risk of damage and / or bursting of the cartridge in the forehead region is considerably reduced. Preferably, the wall thickness of the cartridge is reduced in a central region of the reservoir. Significantly lower forces also occur in the middle region of the reservoir when the dental material is pressed out in comparison to the other regions. This makes it possible to reduce the wall thickness in the central region, whereby material can be saved during manufacture of the cartridge and thus a cartridge can be produced less expensively. Preferably in the longitudinal direction of the reservoir extending stiffening struts are provided in the central region with the reduced wall thickness. On the one hand, this makes it possible to further reduce the wall thickness in the middle region, and on the other hand it is ensured by the stiffening struts that the forces occurring, in particular when the dental material is expressed, can be absorbed and / or passed on without the risk of damage and / or bursting of the cartridge ,
According to another embodiment, a cartridge base for receiving the cartridge in a dispenser is provided at an end of the reservoir facing away from the cannula portion, the cartridge base having an opening for receiving a movable piston for closing the reservoir and for forcing the dental material out of the reservoir. In particular, the cartridge base is annular and / or serves for receiving and holding the cartridge in a dispenser. The dispensing device preferably serves for metered dispensing or pushing out of the dental material from the reservoir and through the cannula section, in particular the cannula channel, and / or the functional element, in particular the application element. For this purpose, the dispensing means may comprise a movable piston-like punch which is insertable through the opening of the cartridge base in order to push the piston of the cartridge in the direction of the end region of the reservoir. As a result, the dental material is pressed through the cannula channel to the outside in a free cannula channel. Preferably, the discharge force for squeezing the dental material in a typical use is in the range of about 100 N to 400 N, in particular about 140 N. In particular, the cartridge base has a maximum outer diameter which corresponds to the maximum outer diameter of the cartridge at an end facing away from the cartridge , Preferably, a reinforced end portion of the cartridge has a maximum outer diameter corresponding to the maximum outer diameter of the Cartridge base corresponds. As a result, the cartridge can be deposited substantially horizontally with respect to its longitudinal axis on a horizontal plane, whereby, for example, packaging of the cartridge is facilitated.
In particular, on an inner surface of the, preferably circular, opening of the cartridge base in the direction of displacement of the piston and / or extending in the longitudinal direction of the reservoir vent grooves are provided. Due to the vent grooves, air may escape from the reservoir upon insertion of the plunger to close the reservoir filled with the dental material. As a result, a largely, in particular completely, air-free filling of the reservoir or of the cartridge with the dental material is made possible. Upon insertion of the piston, the air contained in the reservoir and displaced by the piston can flow out to the side of the piston to the outside.
According to a development, an anti-twist device is provided on a cartridge base which faces away from the cannula section. Preferably, an anti-rotation device is provided on an outer side of the reservoir for preventing twisting of the cartridge in a dispenser. In particular, the rotation lock on a positive connection for preventing rotation of the cartridge about the longitudinal axis of the cartridge and / or the reservoir. The anti-rotation device may comprise a non-slip sleeve, which is insertable into a receptacle of the dispensing device for holding the cartridge. In particular, the sleeve consists of an elastomer, a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), a rubber material and / or a hard rubber material. Preferably, the sleeve is made of an elastomer which is of a classical nature, crosslinking and / or thermoplastically processable, in particular reversible. Preferably, the sleeve is positively connected to prevent rotation of the sleeve about the longitudinal axis of the cartridge with the cartridge base. The anti-rotation device and / or sleeve can cooperate with stiffening struts of the cartridge, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the cartridge and / or the reservoir in a central region of the reservoir with a reduced wall thickness. In particular, the receptacle of the delivery device can be designed to engage in the intermediate regions between the stiffening struts. Alternatively, the anti-twist device can be injection-molded onto the cartridge and / or the cartridge base as part of a multi-component injection molding process, in particular a three-component injection molding process as a third component. The anti-twist device can serve, in particular because of a color coding, as an information carrier for the dental material contained in the cartridge and / or the intended use. Alternatively or additionally, the grip part may be printed with a logo, a QR code and / or a lot number or batch number.
According to a further embodiment, a movable piston is arranged in the reservoir for closing the reservoir and for pushing out the dental material from the reservoir, which has a first radius at its first piston end facing the reservoir and / or the dental material, which corresponds to the inner radius of the reservoir. Preferably, the piston is movable by means of a piston-like punch of a delivery device in the direction of the cannula portion. The first piston end may be conical. Preferably, an area of the piston facing away from the reservoir and / or the dental material has a second radius reduced with respect to the first radius. This results in particular in combination with vent grooves an enlarged passage for the escape of air during insertion of the piston for closing the reservoir and / or it is a material savings in the production of the piston feasible. Preferably, a second piston end remote from the first piston end has a further radius which corresponds to the first radius. In particular, the piston rests in the region of the first end and / or in the region of the second end against an inner surface of the cartridge and / or the reservoir. As a result, the reservoir can be closed by the piston and / or the piston is guided on the inner surface for pushing out the dental material. Preferably, the first piston end and the second piston end are identical and / or mirror-symmetrical to each other. As a result, the piston can be inserted on either side either with the first piston end in front or the second piston end in the cartridge, thereby reducing the assembly effort.
According to a further embodiment, which is also conceivable independently and independently of the present invention, the functional element is designed as a closure element for closing a cannula channel of the cannula section. In this case, the closure element has a detachably, positively and / or non-positively, in particular frictionally engaged, held in the cannula channel plug part, which at least partially fills the cannula channel for closing the cartridge. In particular, the plug portion completely fills the cannula channel. The plug portion may have a length which corresponds at least to the length of the cannula channel. Preferably, the plug member is longer than the cannula channel, the plug member exiting the cannula channel and / or cartridge in communication with the cannula channel and overhanging the cannula portion and / or a free end of the plug member is flush with the cannula channel at the transition to the reservoir , The plug part may have a handle part at a free end outside the cannula section and / or outside the cannula channel, in particular as an information carrier.
Die Außenumfangsfläche und/oder der Außenumriss des Applikationselementes kann eine im Wesentlichen rechteckförmige, quaderförmige oder kugelförmige Gestalt aufweisenAccording to a development which is also conceivable independently and independently of the present invention, the functional element is designed as an application element for dispensing, massaging, introducing and / or applying the dental material. Preferably, the application element is fixed, in particular insoluble, connected to the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing. In particular, the connection of the application element with the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing is formed positively and / or non-positively. The outer peripheral surface and / or the outer contour of the application element may have a substantially rectangular, cuboidal or spherical shape
In particular, the application element is made of a soft and / or elastic plastic material. In particular, the material of the application element has a hardness in the range of Shore A or Shore D, particularly preferably in the range from 30 Shore A to 90 Shore A. In particular, the application element has one or more lips, wherein preferably the lips form an outlet for the dental material. The soft and / or elastic application element allows a gentle application of the dental material in a treatment. The distribution and / or massaging of the dental material is facilitated. Depending on the application, the application element may be designed with different cartridges in different lengths. The risk of undesired injury during treatment is considerably reduced due to the soft and / or elastic material of the application element.
According to a further embodiment, the application element has at least one elevation, in particular a plurality of elevations, for the releasable setting of a separate closure element on an outer surface of the application element. Thus, an independent closure element may be provided to close the cartridge and / or the application element. Here, the closure element is detachable, in particular peelable and / or unscrewable, connected to the cartridge and / or the application element. Preferably, the elevations are formed from the elastic material of the application element. A closure element which is slipped over the application element and the elevations can be sufficiently fixed by means of the elevations, which are preferably uniformly distributed around the outer peripheral surface of the application element, so that the risk of unintentional release of the closure element is reduced. Preferably, the application element is partially disposed on an outer side of the cartridge and / or the cannula portion. In particular, at least one coating region of the application element is arranged on an outer side of the cartridge and / or the cannula portion. Thus, the application element may extend at least partially by means of a coating region or several coating regions on the outside of the cartridge and / or the cartridge housing. Due to the soft and / or elastic material of the application element or of the coating area, an improved grip of the cartridge can be achieved as a result. Further, the design of the coating area may serve as a design element to obtain an aesthetically pleasing cartridge.
The application element preferably has an outlet for dispensing and / or applying the dental material. In particular, the outlet is arranged on an end of the application element facing away from the cartridge housing. The outlet may have a rectangular, square, round or oval cross-section, in particular with regard to its outer contour and / or inner contour. Preferably, the application element has a shape towards the outlet, in particular conically, narrowing or expanding.
After a development that is also conceivable independently and independently of the present invention, the application element has bristles. In particular, the bristles can be produced as part of the application element in the multi-component injection molding process. Thus, a subsequent attachment of fibers and / or additional flocking can be avoided. Preferably, the bristles extend away from the outlet. In particular, the bristles extend from the outlet parallel to each other and / or in the axial direction to a longitudinal axis of a cannula channel. All bristles may be the same or at least partially deviating from each other in terms of their length and / or diameter. Thus, different configurations are more similar or conceivable with regard to the length and / or thickness of different types of bristles. By means of the bristles a greater softness and / or elasticity for the application element can be achieved. This makes a treatment more pleasant for a patient. In particular, a distribution and / or a massaging of the dental material can be improved by means of the bristles.
According to a further embodiment, which is also conceivable independently and independently of the present invention, the application element has a groove-like extension extending from its outlet, in particular for dispensing of the dental material in a cavity and / or tooth pocket. The channel-like extension may be sword-like. In particular, the groove-like extension has at its free end a, particularly preferably obtuse, plug-in part for insertion into a cavity and / or tooth pocket. By means of the free end of the male part made of a soft and / or elastic material, a cavity and / or tooth pocket is to be opened in a way that is more comfortable for the patient. Preferably, the male part widens starting from the free end in the direction of the outlet and in terms of its width. In particular, at the free end of the male part, a first region having a first width and spaced from the free end in the direction of the outlet, a second region having a second width is provided, wherein the second width is greater than the first width. In one treatment, the trough-like extension with the first area and / or the second area can be inserted into the cavity and / or tooth pocket. By means of the first and / or second region, a more uniform distribution of the dental material than by means of a needle or cannula is made possible. As a result, the pain burden and / or pressure load of the patient is reduced due to the introduced dental material. The risk of injury is significantly reduced due to the soft and / or elastic material of the application element.
