Abstract

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Zahnbürste (2), insbesondere mit Griffen aus Kunststoff mit eingesetzten Naturborsten (11) oder Kunstborsten (11) wie sie bekannt sind. Sie dienen der Reinigung und Gesun derhaltung der Zähne. Bei normaler Benutzung, z. B. zweimal täglich, morgens und abends hält eine Zahnbürste aus Kunststoffborsten ihre volle Funktionsfähigkeit vier bis fünf Monate, eine Zahnbürste aus Naturborsten, bzw. Schweineborsten aufgrund der Haarkanäle und Kappilaren nur 24 Monate. Nach dieser Gebrauchsdauer verlieren Kunststoffborsten die heute meist aus Polyurethan bestehen, ihre Elastizität und ihren Härtegrad, können also die Zähne nicht mehr gründlich reinigen und insbe sondere das Zahnfleisch nicht mehr wirksam massieren. Naturborsten haben den weiteren Nachteil, daß sie nach drei bis vier Monaten splittern und lanzettartige Spitzen bilden können, die das Zahnfleisch gegebenenfalls verletzen. Nachgewiesen ist auch, daß Stücke von Naturborsten absplit tern und beim Zähneputzen in das Zahnfleisch einmassiert werden, wo sie aufgrund des starken Bakterienbesatzes lokale Entzündungsherde bilden können, die häufig mit anderen Zahnfleischer krankungen verwechselt werden.The invention relates to a toothbrush ( 2 ), in particular with plastic handles with inserted natural bristles ( 11 ) or synthetic bristles ( 11 ) as are known. Die hier erkennbar werdende Gefährdung ist jedoch viel schwerwiegender, weil, wie es Untersuchungen bewiesen, 10-15% der Bevölkerung sehr bewußt den zahnärztlichen Forderungen folgt und nach jeweils zwei bis vier Monaten die alte, verbrauchte Zahnbürste durch eine neue ersetzt. Eine beson dere Gefährdung entsteht dabei vor allem auch durch den Griff der Zahnbürste, auf den durch die Handhabung immer wieder neue Krankheitserreger aufgebracht werden. Aus diesen Gründen hat man in der Zahnmedizin bisher vergeblich nach Möglichkeiten gesucht, durch entsprechende Präpa rierung der Zahnbürste, wie z. B. das Einbringen eines dauerhaften antibakteriellen Stoffes in den Kunststoff, diese enorme Gefährdung auszuschalten.
