Die Ladevor­ richtung 8 ist mittels eines Anschlußkabels 11 mit Stecker 12 mit einer elektrischen Stromversorgungsein­ richtung verbindbar. Zur Halterung der Bürsten 5, 28 bzw. der Schwabbel 14 in den Ausnehmungen 13 ist an deren Außenwänden 24 jeweils ein Klemmring 25 eingesetzt. An diesen Klemmringen 25 kommen die Grundscheiben 15 der Bürsten 5, 28 bzw. Schwabbel 14 zur Anlage. Oberhalb des Bodens 21 einer jeden Ausnehmung 13 ist ein Reinigungs­ mittel 22 angeordnet, das bei in die Ausnehmung 13 eingesetzter Bürste 5 mit der jeweiligen Einlage 18 und dem Borstenkranz 17 in Kontakt kommt. Vorzugsweise be­ findet sich das Reinigungsmittel 22 in flachen einseitig offenen Aufnahmebehältern 34 wie Dosen oder dgl., die auf dem Boden 21 der Ausnehmungen 13 gelagert und mit jeweils einem Bürstenkopf 29 einer Bürste 5 abgedeckt sind. Das Reinigungsmittel 22 kann z.B. eine Schuhcreme sein. In diesem Fall verhindern die in die Ausnehmungen 13 einge­ setzten Bürsten 5 ein Austrocknen der Schuhcreme, wobei die Bürsten gleichzeitig einen festen Halt haben. Zur Inbetriebnahme der Reinigungsvorrichtung 40 wird nach entsprechender Vorreinigung der zu reinigenden Schuhe mittels der Bürsten 28 und anschließender farbabhängiger Auswahl einer Bürste 5 diese mit dem Zapfen 4 des Geräte­ halters 1 verbunden. Zur ausreichenden Aufnahme von Schuhcreme an dem Bürstenkopf 29 wird die Bürste 5 mit­ tels des Umschalters 36 zunächst in eine oszillierende Kurzhubdrehbewegung gebracht, worauf dann nach Umschal­ tung des Getriebes 7 mittels der Bürste 5 bei reiner Drehbewegung die Schuhcreme auf dem Schuh aufgetragen werden kann. Das Nachpolieren erfolgt mittels eines Schwabbels 14, der nach entfernen der Bürste 5 vom Zapfen 4 auf diesen aufgesetzt wird. Der Betrieb des Schwabbels 14 erfolgt regelmäßig bei reiner Drehbewegung, wobei aber in besonderen Fällen auch eine oszillierende Kurzhubdreh­ bewegung zweckmäßig sein kann. Nach Beendigung des Reini­ gungsvorgangs werden der Gerätehalter 1 sowie die Bürsten 5, 28 und der Schwabbel 14 wieder in das Gerätesatzgehäu­ se 10 eingelagert.
