Definitions

  • the present invention is referred to the oral hygiene care devices sector.
  • the solution is to insert a timer (a counting time device with automatic time-end warning emision) in any part of any manual dental brush type, that enables its activation in a simple way and a clearly perception of the warning signal.
  • Brushing time will be controled by the time passed between timer activation and warning emision, time that will be programmed to an optimum value considered by especialists in oral hygiene care sector. It also may be weighted up the possibility of time modification (within some limits) by final user.
  • the timer can be any type measure device, based on mechanical technology (spring type), quartz diapason resounder or another clockwork or chronometry present technology, even based on electronic-digital technology.
  • the warning method may be acustic, vibratory or optical.

Abstract

Manual dental brush with timer (2), that can be used as a conventional manual dental brush, characterized by being formed by a main body with its head (3) and handle (1) and equipped with a timer (2) that has:
- a time counting element
- a warning element
- an element for communication between the time counting element and the warning element
- a fastening element to the main brush body

The timer set (2) can be in any handle part
(embedded, sticked or thread).
The time counting element can be electronic-digital type and the warning element can be acustic.
Different parts of the brush may be manufactured in a wide variety of materials and sizes.
The head (3) can be replaceble when bristles are weared out and it is joined to the handle (1) by thread or insertion, the handle being reused with the timer included.

Description

    Technology sector
  • The present invention is referred to the oral hygiene care devices sector.
  • Technology state
  • Up to now, manual dental brushes have been developed in their design into models wich try to maximize the positive effects of brushing, taking into accont "how to do it". They are focused in handle characteristics as well as in the head that contains the bristles or another cleaning system's characteristics, in their relative positions and in the materials their different parts are made of.
  • Explanation
  • There's no much difference between the model that is now described and manual dental brush that people usually use and it doesn't substantially modify its design. The improvement that this type of brush introduces is that it adds to the models up to now designed
the time dimension or "how long to do it". So it just supplements models that are used at the moment focused in the way that brushing is done adding time control advantage, all in the same cleaning unit.
  • The solution is to insert a timer (a counting time device
with automatic time-end warning emision) in any part of any manual dental brush type, that enables its activation in a simple way and a clearly perception of the warning signal.
Brushing time will be controled by the time passed between timer activation and warning emision, time that
will be programmed to an optimum value considered by especialists in oral hygiene care sector. It also may be weighted up the posibility of time modification (within some limits) by final user.
  • Drawings description
    • Figure 1.- It shows a frontal face view of a brush with a timer (2) inserted in the brush's handle (1), that holds a head itself (3) with bristles (4).
    • Figure 2.- It shows a side face view of a brush with a timer (2) inserted in the brush's handle (1), that holds a head itself (3) with bristles (4).
    Carrying out way
  • Watching the comented figures, one can notice how the timer fits into the main body of the brush,
no way blocking brushing action. They may be several ways of holding on the timer and several fastening types. So, the figures show a device embedded in the handle, but other ways of holding are proposed, like thread in the brush handle base or sticked in some of these parts.
  • The timer
can be any type measure device, based on mechanical technology (spring type), quartz diapason resounder or another clockwork or chronometry present technology, even based on electronic-digital technology. The warning method may be acustic, vibratory or optical.

Claims (3)

  1. Manual dental brush with timer, that can be used as a conventional manual dental brush, characterized by being formed by a main body with its head and handle and equipped with a timer that has:
    - a time counting element
    - a warning element
    - an element for communication between the time counting element and the warning element
    - a fastening element to the main brush body
  2. Manual dental brush with timer according to claim 1 and characterized by having a timer set in any handle part
    (embedded, sticked or thread).
The time counting element is electronic-digital type and the warning element is acustic.
Different parts of the brush may be manufactured in a wide variety of materials and sizes.
  3. Manual dental brush with timer according to claims 1 and 2 and characterized because its head is replaceble when bristles are weared out and it is joined to the handle by thread or insertion, the handle being reused with the timer included.
