in describing my invention, I shall refer to the drawing in which similar reference charzucters designate corresponding parts throughout the several views and in which 1 indicates the body of the protector, formed preferably of rubber-and designed substantially as a thimblef The same is applicable to any finger of the hand, particularly the thumb and fore linger and is of such size as to cover the lingertip beyond the, first joint thereof.

AS Stated, the body is formed preferably of rubber, so asto fit snugly about the finger and has formed thereon a plurality of flanges 2, which circumscribe the same, said flanges being arranged in spaced relation to one another, throughout'the length of the thimble-like body. Also formed on the flanges in spaced relation to one another and at regular intervals throughout the length thereof, are the integral pro ections 3 forming studs or prongs on the device.

A device constructed in aecordancewith this invention will afford ready and easy application to the finger or fingers of the cotton picker and when applied to use, will permit the cotton to be picked from the shell without bruising, scratching or cutting the fingers, as is true under ordinary conditions.

Thus, with the use of devices such as described, a greater amount of cotton may be picked in a shorter length of time thanis true under present conditions and the dithculties now experienced in the picking of cotton without the use of finger protectors, will be generally obviated.

From the foregoing, it will be seen that I have provided a simple, inexpensive and efiicient means for carrying out the objects of the invention and while I have particularly described the elements best adapted to perform the functions set forth, it is obvious that various changes in form, proportion the purpose set forth.
