Another object of the invention is to provide a socket of novel construction having a thread .in which a thread on one of the sections normally meshes.

It will be observed that above the threaded portion 18, the section 12 is enlarged at 19 so that when the threaded portion 18 meshes with the inner thread 13,- the sections may be turned relatively to each other until the enlarged portion 19 of the section 12 abuts against the inner thread 13 of the outer section.

Aswill best be seen by referring to Fig. 6 of the drawings, inner section 12 is provided with a threaded end 20 which is adapted tomesh with'the inner thread 21 in the socket 22, it being possible by the use of the screws 23 which may extend in the orifices 24 and engage the threaded end 20 of'the section 12 to securethe section 12 against rotation relatively to the socket 22.
