Description

J. A. BOZZELLA.
WATER FOUNTAIN FOR BARBERS U-SE.
APPLICATION FILED SEPT-4. 19:5.
\ Patented Feb. 12, 1918.
eZZIq m rms rrran'r orrrcn I JOHN A. BOZZELL A, OF MONTICELLO, NEW YORK.
WATER-FOUNTAIN FOB, BARBERS USE.
To (223 whom it may concern:
-' Be it known that I, J OHN A. BOZZELLA,
a citizen of the United States, residing at A Monticello, in'the 'countyof Sullivan and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Water-Fountains course of a shave, to wet his'fingers with water from a smallbowlto moisten the face to-facilitate shaving. This method of shavmg a customers face for the second timeis objectionable in that it is unsanitary and likely to cause a spreading'of disease, for the reason that this water is used for many customers.
In carrying out my invention, I propose termed a sanitary to provide what may be the water. may be water fountain whereby discharged into the hand of the barber without necessitating the placing of the hand .in the Water, thereby permitting fresh clean water to be applied to the faceof each customer.
' With the above and other objects in'view,
the invention consists in the construction, combination and'arrangement of parts hereinafter set forthin andfalling within the scope of the claims.
I In the accompanying drawing:
'- Figure 1 is a view in side elevation of a device constructed in accordance with the present invention.
7 Fig. 2 is a sectional view on the-line 2-2 a Fig. 3 is a similar view on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1. I
Fig. 4 is a top plan View.
Referring now to the drawing in detail hers usejstand, with the aperture in-the ring 55.
'tnrein the ring 5.
in Which is shown a water fountain-for barconstructed in accordance with the ihventionand including a stand 1, the legs 2 of which are offset between their ends and connected by spaced rings 3, 4;, and 5 arranged therebetween, the rings t and .5 which are of less diameter than thermg 3 are arranged adjacent the upper end of the 4.- cone apersiderably smaller in diameter 'than t Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb.12, 191s.
Application filed September 4, 1915. Serial No. 48,997.
A sleeve 6 is interposed between 'the rings l and 5 and serves as a guard for the lower portion of a liquid receptacle 7. A yieldable support 8 for the receptacle 7 is arranged within the sleeve 6 and comprises a coiled expansion spring '9 interposed between the ring 4: and a collar 10 through which the neck of the receptacle? is passed to permit the shoulders of the receptacle to' bear on the collar as shown.
Detachably connected with the neck "of the receptacle 7 is a-cap ll havi'ng formed thereon a channeled extension 12 normally extending below the ring 4 through the aperture therein, the channel in the extension =-being normally closed to prevent the escape of liquid from the receptacle by a gravity controlled valve 13, the stem of which when I the valve is in position to close the channel in the extension extends beyond the lower end of the extension as shown.
A conical liquid directing member 11 has its base secured to the ring -1 in any suitable manner and has extending transversely thereof, a bar 15 arrzm red below the valve stem 13 and adapted to, contact therewith when pressure is appliedto the liquid receptacle'7 to move the same in a downward direction, thus unseating the valve and per- .mitting the liquid within the receptacle to be discharged into the liquid directing member 14.
A waste receptacle 16 is arranged within the aperture in the. ring 3 and is provided with a perforated cover17.
WVhen a barber desires to obtain some of barber.-
thereby int-o the hand ofthe of'liquid has When the desired quantity been obtained, the barber releases the pressure upon the liquid receptacle 7 so that the yieldable support therefor will move the same in an upward valve 13 to close the channel in the extension12.
.S ecured'to the under surface of the ring will be discharged" intothe, conical member 14 and directed direction to enable the 4 beneath the opening therein isan inverted frusto-conical fluid directing member 14 into which extends the stem of the valve l3;
While I have herein shown and'described" 5one preferred form of my invention by Way.
theclaims without departing from the spirit of the invention.
I claim: a a p 1,111 a water fountain for. barbers use,
a liquid receptacle yieldably supported for movement in a vertical plane, a conical liq? uid directing member' rigidly mounted beneath said liquid receptacle, a movable valve controlling the discharge of liquid from said liquid receptacle having a stem extending Within said liquid directing member, and a bar Within said liquid directing member for contact with said stem when the liquid receptacle is-moved in one direction.
2. In a water fountain for barber's use, a stand, a liquid receptacle yieldably supported thereon for movement in a vertical plane, a conical fluid directing member on said stand, a cap at one end of said recepwithin said fluid directing '-member having a channel therethrough, a valve for control- -tacle, an extension on said cap extending li-ng the passage of liquid thro'ugh'said chan 'nel having a stem extending beyondsaid extension, and a bar to be engaged 'by an end of said stem when said liquid receptacle is moved in one direction.' v
3. Ina water fountaln, for barbers use, a stand mcludmg spaced legs and a ring supported thereby, a conicalfluid directing member below said ring having its base con'- .nected therewith,- a yieldable support on said ring above said liquid directing member, a liquid receptacle carried by said sup-Y- port, a cap closing an end of saidrecepmole extending within the fluid directing member through the aperture in said ring, a valve for controlling the passage of liquid through said cap havinga'stem'extending 7 beyond the same, and a valve actuating bar within said liquid dlrecting member below said stem.'
In testimony whereof Iaffix my signature 7 in presence of two Witnesses. I JOHN A. BOZZELLA..
