inane-ea Specification of Letters Patent.
l atented Aug. 19232.
To all whomrit may concern.
Be it known that l, SVENMANFRED CARL- sTnnT, engineer, a subject of the King of Sweden, residinp" at 30 Rorstrandsgatan, Stockholm Sweden, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Waxing or Polishing Brushes, of which the following is a specification.
This invention refers to a waxing brush the like of that kind wher sin two or more brush-members or surfaces are arranged one directions.
The invention COl'lSlEahSy as will be more fully detailed in connection with the enclosed drawings, in that the brush-members are connected-with the rotor of an electric motor by means of a wearing actuating both brush-members in such. manner that one of the brush members may rbtate upon stoppage of the other brush-member.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawin s.
Fig". 1 shows a brush, provided with two brush-members viewed from below, while igs. 2 and 3 show schematically an embodi-- merit of the driving device of the brush members and Fig. i another embodiment of said driving device. I
Fig. 5 shows in vertical section an embodiment of the invention illustrating how the brush-members are supported and showing their connections with the electric motor. a and i) in'hig. 1 indicate the two hmishmembers, which are adapted to rotate, in a suit-able manner, in opposite directions. 7
The one, for instance the inner crushmember a, is supposed to be connected with the rotor directly orindirectly by means of gearing, while the annular brush-member is connected with said gearhe brush-members i ven' i rorn a motor.
/Vhen the motive power isdeiivered from the rotor only (single rotary motion) the bodiinent shown iii-Figs. E2. and 3, and c e clear y at Fig. used.
ere gs. 2 and 0 indicates the motor-shalt, d, a gear "fastened thereon and e intermediate wheel, a cogged ring f arranged on the outer hrushring i). l
may also each The brush-members will be thereby rotated in opposite directions. The employment of this gearing the advantage, that ithin the other and rotate in opposite its centre of gravity'through a cla'r in such a manner that maybe placed eccentrically to the brush and the drivingwneel mo prising a casing inc said position of the brush the outer brush-ring W alone contacts the floor, is avoided by the brush-ring being stopped on account of such contact.
Referring to Fig. 5 the electric motor g is mounted within a casing it and is a @159 one end attached to a cover 2' and at its other end attached to a bottom plate The electric motor shaft 0 carries at its lower end the gear a, engaging with a planet pinion e, journalled on a stud 7a which is carried by a plate Z, journalled on the said shaft 0. The said planet pinion gears into the cogged ring 7, arranged upon a rotatable disc or plate m, journa-lled coaxially with the motorshaft. The apparatus is provided with two concentrically ar ranged brushes a and 25, of which the inner means I over e The electrical current is means of an ordinary switch p and the contact brushes 9 and a.
The drivino means also he arr Q J l e 1 driving w the brush-members may o the same (F 1g". 4-). this ,case the rectly on the shaft of motor or may be placed concentrically be connected with the driving-wheel by v a suitable gearing.
l claim:
1. A waxing' l shine; brush corn- :ln said cas niotor shaftlextending below the casin brusl'i-rnember rotatably mounted below said casing and operatively connected. with said sha e, and a brush member rotatab-iy mounted casing and operatively connected gearing.
d. A waxing and p hen a n prising a casing, a motor in said casing, a motor shaft extending below the casing, a brush-member rotatably mounted below said casing and operatively connected by gearing with said shaft, and a brush ring outside said member rotatab-ly mounted on said casing and operatively connected to said gearing, the gearing being adapted to allow one of the brush members to move upon stoppage of the other brush member.
3. A waxing and polishing brush com-' prising a casing, a motor in said casing, a
motor shaft extending below the casing, a
brush-member rotatably mounted below said casing and operatively connected by planet 1 5 gearing with said shaft, and a brush-ring outside said-member rotatably mounted on said casing and operatively connected to said gearing.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature 20 in presence o ftwo Witnesses.
