TOOTI-IBRUSH CONTAINER.
Application filed (fune 7,
T0 all 107mm t may concer/a.'
Be it known that I, BENJAMIN ROBERT MonnisoN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Wilmington, in the county of New I-Ianover and State of North Carolina, have invented a new and useful Toothbrush Container, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to tooth brush containers and its principal object is to provide a container which will retain the tooth brush in a sanitary and antiseptic condition at all times. l
Further, it is an object of the invention to provide a tooth brush container adapted to contain an antiseptic liquid in which the tooth brush is normally submerged and which Will be absolutely dust and germ proof.
Another object of the invention is to provide a container 0f this character which will be simple in construction and inexpensive to manufacture and may be sold at a nominal cost.
With the preceding and other objects and advantages in mind, the invention consists in the novel combination of elements, construction and arrangement of parts and operation to be hereinafter more fully de.- scribed, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of my improved tooth brush holder; and
Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional vieW of the same.
Referring in detail to the drawing' wherein like characters of reference designate like parts throughout the several views, the numeral 5 designates a cylindrical body or container having one end open and beveled, as at 6. A closure or stopper is designated at T and has its lower end beveled, as at 8,
to coincide with the beveled end 6 of the container 5. The upper end of the stopper 45 or closure 'T is formed with a rounded head or knob 9 adapted to be grasped when ie-A moving the stopper or closure 7.
In order to firmly hold the stopper or closure 7 in the open end of the container 5 1921. serial No. 475,776.
I have provided a hood or thimble 10 having threads 11 at its lower end. The body or container 5 is formed With external threads 12 at its upper end with which the threaded end of the thimble or hood 9 is engaged.
As illustrated in Figure 2, the hood of thimble 10 engages the rounded head or knob 9 so that upon threading the hood or thimble on the body 5, the closure or stopper and the body will be tightly drawn together.
The container is adapted to contain an antiseptic liquid in which the brush head of the tooth brush-designated at 13 is submerged, as shown in Figure 2.
The bottom of the receptacle 5 is relatively thick and is concaved Which strengthens the receptacle and permits the bottom to be readily reached for cleaning purposes.
Preferably, the tooth brush holder is constructed from glass, but any other desirable material may be used in lieu thereof.
It is to be understood that 'the form of my invention herein shown and described is to be taken as a preferred example of the same, and that various changes in the shape, size and arrangement of parts may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the subjoined claim.
Having thus. described myv invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure and protect by Letters Patent of the United States, is
In combination, a b-rush container and sterilizer comprising a body portion with a beveled inner surface and a screw threaded outer surface; a "stopper With fa beveled outer surface adapted to engage said beveled inner surface and an inner recess; a screwr cap adapted to fit over said stopper andto press said stopper' into said body portion thereby forming a liquid tight easily broken joint at said beveled surfaces; a sterilizing liquid inserted in said container; and a brush inserted in said liquid, the handle of said brush extending into said recessed por- -tion of the stopper.
BENJAMIN R. MORRISON.
