To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CURTIS D. DECKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Moores, in the county of Delaware and btate of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Containers, of which the following is a specification.

The general object of this invention is to provide a means of holding dental floss upon a tooth paste tube or other dentifrice container, so as to be convenient for use in cleansing between the teeth before brushing them.

Another object of the invention is to provide a spool for containing the floss and a cover for enclosing the spool with means for attaching the cover to the tube.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.

In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of the invention.

Figure 2 is a view with arts in section.

Figure 3 is a perspective view of the spool.

Figure 4 is a similar view of the spool cover.

In these views 1 indicates the tube which contains the tooth paste or other dentifrice, said tube being formed with an inclined upper part 2 which forms a support for the spool 3 which contains the dental floss, as

shown at 4. This spool is. provided with a flaring flange 5 for engaging the inclined, part, the other end being formed with a straight flange 6 for holding the floss in place. The spool fits over the neck of the tube and is held in position by means of a cover 7 of cup-shape which is held on the tube in any suitable manner, preferably by having an opening therein engaging the threa ed part of the tube. This cover is provided with a slot 8 through which the floss can be drawn and a hook 9 for breaking the floss.

From the above it will be seen that the dental floss is carried on the tube so that a portion can easily be removed and used for cleaning particles of food from between the teeth before the teeth are brushed.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readil apparent.

I desire it to be understoo that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.

What I claim is The combination with a collapsible tube for holding tooth paste or the like, of a spool for floss or the like having rotary engagement with the outlet end of the tube and including a downwardly flared flange having bearing on the tube, a straight horizontally disposed flange cooperating with the flared flange for retaining the floss on the spool, and a cover for'the spool associated with the tube and floss as and for the purpose specified.
