" UNITED STATES ALFRED DE LELLIS, or rnovrnmqon, RHODE ISLAND.
DENTAL KIT.
' Application filed December This invention relates to an improved product of manufacture, which may be conveniently referred to as dental kit adapt-ed either for pocket use or for use in the home.
Briefly, the invention has reference to a comparatively small container when carried in the pocket, and a relatively larger one for home use. n
The container comprises a receptacle hav- 1 ing a central vertical partition dividing; it into separate compartments, one of which is adapted for reception of a collapsible tooth paste tube, and the othervone of which is adapted to receive a tooth brush.
A removable sliding cover is provided for the receptacle, and for closing the compartment.
The specific details forming the alleged new product will become apparent from the following description and drawings.
In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 is a perspective view of the complete article showing the accessories removed.
Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the article showing the accessories contained therein. I
In the drawings, the reference character 1 designates a box-like receptacle having the upper portion of its front wall 2 cutaway. The upper edge of this front wall is formed with curved notches 3 which communicate with the compartments 4 and 5 formed by the centrally located vertically disposed partition wall 6.
I would direct attention to the fact that this wall terminateseven with the upper end of the front wall 2 and spaced downwardly from the upper edges of the remaining end and rear walls. The compartments are thus adapted for reception of a tooth paste tube 7 of the ordinary collapsible type and an ordinary tooth brush 8, the tube being located in the compartment 4 and brush in the compartment 5. In this connection, I would call attention to the fact that the box is of a length slightly greater than these articles or accessories 7 and 8.
Moreover, the accessories are of a length greater than the depth of the compartments,
so that they project above the partition walls. This it particularly advantageous in that it allows the fingers to be readily associated with the notches 8, and the shortened partition walls in readily grasping and removing the accessories 7 or 8 as the case may be.
The compartment 5 is formed in its bottom e, 1926.. Serial No. 153,557.
with holes 9 serving as air circulating means, and drain openings in case of the accumula tion of moisture. -Aremovable slide cover 10 is fitted telescopically down and over the upper open end of the box, andit will be noticed that'this cover is proportioned so a that it extends down beyond the notched upper end of the front wall 2.
Fromthe foregoing description, it will be seen that I have evolved and produced an exceptionally simple and inexpensive prod- I not of manufacture which may be'employed as a special article holder or for pocket and home use. Inasmuch as the invention is adapted to especially contain a tooth paste tube and tooth brush, it has been appropriately entitled a dental kit, the same being especially adapted for use by travelers for emergency use.
The invention is characterized by the notchedfront wall terminating on a plane in connection with the drawings, a clear understanding of the invention, and advantages will be had. Therefore, a more lengthy description is thought unnecessary.
I-Iaving thus'described my invention, what I claim as new is 1. As a new product of manufacture, a miniature portable dental kit, comprising a box-like receptacle open at its upper end, having the upper portion of its front wall cut away and the upper edge of said front wall formed with notches, a transverse centralized partition wall in said receptacle, dividing it into separate compartments, said partition walls terminating on a plane with the upper edge of said cut away front wall, a tooth paste tube in the one compartment extending above the partition wall and notched front wall, a tooth brush in the remaming compartment, also extending abovesaid partition wall and notched front wall,
and a removable cover telescopically fitted upon the upper open end of the receptacle, said cover being adapted to rest upon the end and rear walls of the receptacle and the front wall of the cover extending down beyond the notched upper edge of said first named front wall. I
2. As a new product of manufacture, a special article holder for dental accessories, such as a tooth paste tube and a tooth brush, said holder comprising a substantially rectangular box-like receptacle embodying front, rear, and end walls, the front wall having its upper end portion cut away to dispose its upper edge in downwardly spaced relation to the corresponding edges of the remaining walls, said upper edge being provided with a pair of finger notchcs, a transverse partition wall, located in said receptacle, and disposed betweenv the front "and rear walls and forming separate compartments, said partition wall having its upper end terminating in a plane with the upper edge of the front wall, and a slide cover fitting telescopically down upon the upper edge portion of said receptacle, and the front wall of the cover extending down into sliding contact with the front wall of the receptacle, to provide an effective closure, the top of said cover being imperforate, so that the cover may be employed as a drinking cup, and one of the compartments of said receptacle having apertures'in its bottom for circulation air.
In testlmony whereof, I affix my signature.
ALFRED DE LELLIS.
