Patented May 17, 1932 UNITED STATES FRED NADOOLMAN, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK DISPENSER Application filed. July 30,
This invention relates to dentifrice receptacles, and has for one of its objects the provision of a neat and compact toilet article, adapted to contain a liquid dentifrice or antiseptic solution which may be sprayed or squirted onto a tooth brush or other object.
Another object of the invention is to provide a toilet article of the character referred to, having a reservoir containing barrel and a duct pivotally maintained therein, the said duct being provided with a dentifrice or antiseptic solution admitting opening, adapted to be brought into and out of communication with the mouth of the reservoir.
Another object is to produce a device of the character described in which the maximum simplicity of construction and operation is secured.
Other objects and advantages will appear 90 as the nature of the improvements is better understood, the invention consisting substantially in the novel arrangement and co-relation of parts herein fully described, and
illustrated in the accompanying drawings, 95 wherein similar reference characters are used to describe corresponding parts throughout the several views, and then final- 1y pointed out and specifically defined and indicated in the appended claims.
The disclosure made the basis of exemplifying the present inventive concept suggests a practical embodiment thereof, but the invention is not to be restricted to the exact details of this disclosure, and the latter, therefore, is to be understood from an illustrative, rather than a restrictive standpoint.
The inventive idea involved is capable of receiving a variety of mechanical expres sions, one of which, for the purpose of illustration, is shown in the accompanying drawin s, in which igure 1 is an enlarged longitudinal sectional view of a combined receptacle and tooth brush embodying one form of my in vention.
Figure 2 is a top plan view thereof.

the duct, shown inone of its operated positions, and
Figure 5 is a other position. i
' Referring now to the drawings in detail 10 indicates a barrel having a central bore or chamber 11 adapted to house a tube or reservoir 12 containing an antiseptic solution 'or dentifrice 13. This tube 12 may be made of rubber or any other suitable material. so The mouth of the barrel 10 consists of a threaded opening 14 having therein a threaded cent-rally perforated plug 15 which may be cemented, glued, or otherwise secured to the neck portion 16 of the tube 12.
The forward end of the opening 17 of the plug 15.is provided with a threaded portion 18 adapted to receive the threaded end 19 of a socket member 20 having a central bore 21 which is in alinement with the neck bore 22 of the tube 12. Pivotally maintained in the socket 20 is the ball end 23 of a duct 24 having a dentifrice or antiseptic solution opening 25, which when the tube is in inv operative or folded back position, is out of alinement with the bore 21 of the socket member20. The tube or duct 24 when in the aforementioned position fits into a recess 27 in the forward end of the barrel 10.
A tooth brush 28 is provided with a threaded end 29 for removably maintaining the said brush in a threaded opening in the lower forward end of the barrel 10, and a cap 30 may be pro-videdto maintain the parts in a sealed and sanitary condition when not in use.
-To operate the device for squirting the contentsof the reservoir onto the brush, the cap 30 is removed and the duct 24 is swung into the dot and dash position shown at A 99 Figur 1, or in the Figure 5 position, and a lever 35 pivoted at 36 in a frame 87 secured in a slot of the barrel 10, is then operated to actuate a presser bar 38 to press the bag 12 and force the contents or a portion thereof through the openings 21 and 25 into the duct 24 and out thereof through openings 39 which are so positioned in the duct as to direct the squirted liquid on to the brush bristles. When the duct is in the Figure 4 posisimilar View thereof in an- 35 bore in the socket member.

of a reservoir containing liquid, I may substitute a tube containing a dental or other paste, and instead of using the lever 35 and presser bar 38 any other means may be em- 10 ployed for pressing the contents out of the reservoir.
From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided a simple sanitary and compact toilet article in the form of a combined tooth brush and reservoir adapted for instantaneous use, It is obvious that the brush 28 may be dispensed with, and another element substituted, or the device may be used as a sprayer for medicaments. Having described my invention, What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a device of the nature described, a barrel having an open threaded end, a flexible medicated liquid containing sac in the barrel open at one end, a plug screw threadedly maintained in the barrel and having a bore adapted to receive the open end of the sac, a socket screw threadedly maintained in the plug, the said socket member having a bore therein in alinement with the plug bore and a duct pivotally mounted in the socket and provided with an opening adapted to be brought into and out of registry with the 2. In a device of the nature described, a barrel having an open threaded end, a flexible medicated liquid containing sac in the barrel open at one end, a plug screw threadbore adapted to receive the open end of the sac, a socket screw threadedly maintained in the plug, the said socket member having a bore therein in alinement with the plug bore, a duct pivotally mounted in the socket and provided with an opening adapted to be brought into and out of registry with the bore in the socket member and means in the barrel in operative engagement with the sac V I for squeezing the contents out of the said I n5 sac through the duct.
3. In a device of the nature described, a barrel having an open threaded end, a flexible medicated liquid containing sac in the barrel open at one end, a plug screw threadedly maintained in the barrel and having a bore adapted to receive the open end of the sac, a socket screw threadedly maintained in Y the plug, the said socket member having a bore therein in alinement with the plug bore, 1 a duct pivotally mounted in the socket and provided with an opening adapted to be brought into and out of registry with the bore M in the socket member, and means in the barrel 111 operatlve engagement with the sac for
