The present invention relates to improvements in containers or receptacles and has reference more particularly to a tooth brush container.
()ne of the important objects of the present invention is to provide a container for the brush portion or a tooth brush when the latter is not in use for the purpose of protecting the bristles from collecting germs, dust and the like.
A salient object of the present invention is to provide a sanitary tooth brush container that is constructed of destructible material so that after the container has been used, the same can be thrown away and a fresh container brought into use, the container being constructed of such material as to render the same inexpensive in its manufacture.
Still another object is to provide a sanitary tooth brush container of the above-mentioned character wherein an absorbent lining is arranged within the container so that any moisture remainin when inserted in the container will be evaporated thereby tending to maintain the best sanitary conditions.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing.
In the accompanying drawing wherein like reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views:
Figure 1 represents a side elevation of m' improved container showing a tooth brush inserted therein.
Figure 2 is a longitudinal sectional view taken approximately on the line 22 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a vertical sectional view taken substantially on the line 33 of Figure 2.
looring in the same direction of the arrows; an
Figure 4 is a detail perspective view of the removable lining per se. In the drawing wherein for the purpose of illustration isshown the preferred embodi:
ment of my invention, the numeral 1 designates generally the container embodying my invention, the same being preferably formed on the bristles of the brush proposed, the same willbe protected against of pa er and constructed in such a manner as to rm a be like receptacle that is open onl at one en v ranged within the container 1 is the lining 2 formed of any suitable absorbent ma- 55 terial and attention is now directed to Figure 4 of the drawing wherein the lining is shown in detail. It will be observed upon referring to this particular that the 18 formed from asingle lank of material f0 ded ion 'tudinally to provide the overlapping fol 3 and 4 and these folds are cemen together at only one point as at 5 adjacent one end of the lining so that the be in the form of an envelop open at its r'e- 65 spective ends with the major rtions of the. overlapping portions of the olds not being cemented together. o
The absorbent lining 2 is inserted withm the paper container 1 and if desired, the inner to end portion of. the be cemented to the adjacent portion 0 the container. inserting the lining, the end which has its overlapping folds disconnected is inserted first. Consequently the connected portions of 76 I the folds are disposed immediately adjacent themouth of the receptacle, so that the folds can be very easil and conveniently separated upon opening 0 the receptacle, and thereby facilitate removal of the brush for use.
If desired, the absorbent lining may be saturated with a suitable antiseptic compound so that a thoroughly sanitary condition will be preserved.
When the brush part of the tooth brush A is inserted within the container as indicated in Figures 1, 2 and 3, the open end of the container may be closed in any suitable manner and in the present instance, I have shown the container as being closed by folding over the corner portion.
, The 2 will tend to absorb any moisture present on the bristles of the brush and by encasing the brush in the manner as u germs and other foreign matter when not in use. 7
The container 1 may have any suitable advertising indicia printed on the outer face thereof and when the tooth brush is to be used, the same is removed from the container after which the container is dewroyed and a fresh container is brought into use when the tooth brush is again to he placed away.
The construction of a sanitary tooth brush container of the above-mentioned character renders the same very inexpensive and at the same time eficient in carrying out the purposes for which it is designed.
While I have shown the preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be understood that minor changes in the size, shape and anrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope'of the appended claim.
What I claim as new is:
A tooth brush container comprising a normally flat bag-like receptacle of uniform width throughout and open at one end to receive the head of the brush; an envelope-like lining of absorbent material within the recep tacle and open at both ends, said lining being formed from a blank of material folded toprovide overlapping folds having their corresponding upper corners connected to ther and free for the remaining portions 0 their length, and the corners of the open end of the receptacle and the adjacent corners of said lining being folded on one side of the receptacle to snugl close the latter about the handle of the bra.
. In testimony whereof E afix my signature.
