- the curvature currently in use has significant drawbacks. Different people will need or desire different amounts of curvature.
- the current invention is free to move as needed in the region away from the body. Yet, it will still remain in close relative position to the wearer without protruding.
- the stationary, belt-mounted clip does not curve away from the user. This means there is a greatly reduced instance of a protruding item hitting any unwanted proximate items.
Abstract
An improved belt-mounted glove holder is herein disclosed and described.
Description
- An improved belt-mounted glove holder is herein disclosed and described.
- The sport of golf enjoys an unparalleled popularity in our society. Its players and enthusiasts express a passion that is unique amongst sportsman. Golfers are forever searching for improvements and conveniences that will make their time on the course easier and more pleasurable. There exists numerous belt-mounted apparatus that carry golfing accessories. Two such devices are disclosed in U.S. Pat. Nos. 6,209,766 and 5,934,530 incorporated herein by reference. While on the surface, each of these devices may appear similar to the current invention; they each contain the same limitation. Each patent specifically describes the need to curve the device in a manner such that it does not contact the body when sitting standing or walking. Because everyone has different abdominal girth, the amount of curvature required can vary significantly from one person to another. There exists a need for a belt-mounted carrier, which will effectively hold a golf club, and stay clear of the users body
- It is an object of the invention to provide a belt-mounted device for carrying a golf glove.
- It is another object of the invention to provide a belt-mounted device for carrying a golf glove that can be used by any user regardless of their size or girth.
- It is another object of the invention to provide a belt-mounted device for carrying a golf club that is comprised of two distinct pieces.
- It is another object of the invention to provide a device for carrying a golf club in with two distinct pieces formed in such a manner that the device remains clear of the user's body.
- FIG. 1 Shows the device in a position to receive a golf glove.
- FIG. 2 Shows the extended adjustable strap of a conventional golf glove
- FIG. 3 Shows close up detail of the device attached to a belt.
- The device is formed of two distinct and separate pieces. A first piece is so formed so as to attach to a standard belt. The first piece contains a distal location for receiving and securing the second piece. The second piece attaches to said first piece in a manner so as to secure it. The securing can be done by a standard clip as is commonly known. The second piece contains a Velcro section for holding a glove when desired. In forming the device in this manner, the second piece is granted a range of motion that allows it to remain clear from the user.
- In another embodiment, the subject invention can be used to hold a golf towel.
- In another embodiment, the user can wear more than one holder, in which one is used to hold a golf towel and another for a golf glove.
- FIG. 1 shows a
standard golf glove 40, with anadjustable tightening strip 45, attached to the side of the glove. The tighteningstrip 45 is most commonly secured to the glove by means of Velcro. Theglove 40 is shown in position to be placed on the device. A Movable member comprises aplate 5 has anouter face 10, on which there is aregion 20.Region 20 has within it securing means for receiving and holding tighteningstrip 45 by means of standard Velcro fasteners.Handle 15 extends from the upper edge ofmovable member plate 5 and is so formed to facilitate easy combination when engaged inclip 30. Saidclip 30 forms the majority of a stationary belt-mounted member, and is formed with a front portion extending downward to receivehandle 15, and aback portion 25 which secures the device to thebelt 30 of the user. - FIG. 2 illustrates the inner portion of the
tightening strip 45, which is typically where the Velcro portion can be found. - FIG. 3 illustrates a close up detail of the aforementioned elements and the attachment of the movable plate to the belt mounted clip.
- In constructing a devise of this manner, the current invention distinguishes itself from the currently known devices, in that there is no need to provide a curvature to the portion attached to the belt. The curvature currently in use has significant drawbacks. Different people will need or desire different amounts of curvature. The current invention is free to move as needed in the region away from the body. Yet, it will still remain in close relative position to the wearer without protruding. The stationary, belt-mounted clip does not curve away from the user. This means there is a greatly reduced instance of a protruding item hitting any unwanted proximate items.
- While the invention has been described in its preferred form or embodiment with some degree of particularity, it is understood that this description has been given only by way of example and that numerous changes in the details of construction, fabrication, and use, including the combination and arrangement of parts, may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
