Abstract
A tooth brush holder consisting of only two parts and being delivered or obtainable in a hermetically sealed wrapping. One part is a forwardly extending horizontal plate having indents therein for receiving any one of tooth brushes therein. There is in indent for receiving a bar of soap thereon being retained in place by upstanding ribs. The horizontal plate is removably attached to a wall plate having been mounted on any wall surface. The wall plate is attached to any of the walls by way of an adhesive strip. The connection between the horizontal plate and the wall plate is accomplished by an upstanding and forwardly extending clip on the wall plate that will accept frictionally a frame member of the horizontal plate.
Description
- A tooth brush holder is disclosed that can easily be mounted on a wall or a mirror in a bathroom by an attendant or by a user.
- It is well known fact that tooth brush holders and/or soap holders in a bath room, whether they are found in a home environment or in a commercial establishment such as a hotel or a motel, can never be considered to be in a sanitary condition even though they are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis whenever the rest rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. The rags that are used for cleaning are full of bacteria because they are used from one room to another. Even if the rags are changed and disposed of after every cleaning, they will not be able to remove all of the bacteria that are present from a prior user. The only way to remove all of the bacteria is to use a special cleaning fluid specifically designed to do such cleaning. It is not known whether such cleaning fluid is available in all establishments and if so if it being used.
- In view of all of the above the inventive toothbrush holder is carried by an individual patron of a commercial establishment or even at home. The tooth brush holder is carried in a hermetically sealed enclosure and consists of merely two parts. One part is mounted as a backup plate against a wall in a bathroom or on a mirror. Once the one part is mounted the forwardly extending holder plate is merely clipped to the wall mounted backup plate and is ready for use. When the patron leaves the premises, the backup plate can easily be removed from the wall that it was mounted on and can be discarded. It the patron does not remove the backup plate from the wall, a cleaning attendant can remove the same and reinstall another tooth brush holder from another hermetically sealed container or enclosure and reinstall a new and bacteria-free tooth brush and/or soap holder. A note attached to the new tooth brush holder would inform the next patron entering the room that the tooth brush holder is clean and bacteria free. This operation would enhance the overall amenities of the establishment as to its safety and cleanliness.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a tooth brush holder installed on a wall; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective and an exploded view of the tooth brush holder; -
FIG. 3 is cross sectional side view. -
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the inventive tooth brush holder wherein 1 illustrates a horizontal plate 1 that has various indents 2 for the reception oftooth brushes 2 a (in phantom lines). The horizontal plate 1 has provisions made to support a bar ofsoap 3 a (in phantom lines) on a depression 3. The horizontal plate 1 is mounted to a backup plate which is attached to a wall (not shown). -
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the tooth brush holder. Again the reference character 1 illustrates the horizontal plate which has the indents 2 therein for the reception of any of thetooth brushes 2 a shown inFIG. 1 . The horizontal plate further showsfriction ribs 3 b in the depression 3. Thefriction ribs 3 b enhance the retaining of the bar of soap 3 (FIG. 1 ). As can be seen fromFIG. 2 , the horizontal plate 1 is held removably held in place on a clip 5 which protrudes forwardly from the wall plate 4. -
FIG. 3 illustrates the mounting of the horizontal plate 1 to the wall plate 4. In this illustration the wall plate 4 has a forwardly and upwardly extending clip 5 which is so dimensioned to receive a downwardly extending frame member of the horizontal plate by way of friction. This will enable a user to easily remove the horizontal plate 1 from the wall plate 4, just by lifting the plate up and away from the wall to which the wall plate 4 is attached. The wall plate 4 is attached to any wall by way of an adhesive strip 6 having a removable cover therein to protect the adhesive when not in use. Such use is well known in attaching items to any wall, such as pictures etc. - When a patron checks into a hotel, motel or other establishment, he or she will carry the inventive tooth brush holder in a hermetically sealed wrapping which assures a bacteria-free environment. It is merely up to that person to unwrap the tooth brush holder from its encasement and remove the adhesive covering sheet from the adhesive strip 6 and place the backing plate 5 against any handy surface and to attach the horizontal plate 1 over the upwardly and forwardly extending clip 5 and push down on it to lock it in place. This way, the patron is assured of a bacteria-free environment with regard to the tooth brush and/or soap holder. The same procedure may be undertaken in a home environment.
- The inventive tooth brush holder consists of only two parts, can easily be manufactured and is manufactured at a low cost. However, the benefits derived from this invention cannot be estimated but must be numerous.
